Hello to you all! I'm Orcbane, and I am rather new around here! I've been around this site before, but only recently have decided to sign up. It is nice to make your collective acquaintance! I was diagnosed a little over 3 years ago when I was 18.. actually I was surprised when I was. I mostly just thought of myself as eccentric. I discovered this site while researching Asperger's on Wikipedia. I like computers, especially when focusing on networking. I'm also interested in Linux, and like messing with different distributions (especially Slackware!) I'm also quite fond of insects, I find most of them to be quite fascinating. I like fishing, but I am more of an enthusiastic angler... I'm admittedly terrible at it.
Well, that's about all I can think of to say for an introduction for now... I look forward to talking with you all!

Hi Orcbane! Welcome to Wrong Planet! Check out the different forums here--there is even a section for computer geeks. I've noticed that a lot of WP members are into Linux distros. I have one myself, that a relative set up for me. I've had it several years, but don't like it, so I will be switching to Win-7 when I upgrade to a new computer soon. I had Windows before I had Linux Ubuntu. Although it crashed sometimes, it was easier for me to use, as I am not a computer geek, and am not interested in what's under the hood of my computer. I just want something easy to use, that is also secure and not too prone to crashing. I am hoping to find a good browser for my new system. I don't want IE because of security and crash issues. Chrome is the property of snoopy and tracky Google, and I have Firefox now. It is a resource hog that often hangs. I've heard that Opera is supposed to be good, so I will check that one, and others out.

Just remember, you are among friends here at WP.

Thank you for the warm welcomes everyone! Also! I have used Opera before, and it runs pretty well. But then again that was a few years ago. I still hear it runs nicely... I am a fan of open source and Mozilla. I don't have much issues with Firefox... but I hear of many people who have nothing but problems with it.

Thanks everyone! Very Happy The person who I talk to has BSOD issues when running Firefox. Although his computer has had other strange issues due to having a PSU with insufficient wattage. (It ran for quite awhile before it was switched to a more suitable one.)

I found the hardest thing to get used to about the diagnosis was that "normal" people weren't at all like me - I'd been through five decades supporting the alternate viewpoint, without a lot of success, and it shocked me
