Inspired by AnonymousAnonymous' thread of TV shows that would make great movies. I realized that I couldn't think of too many TV shows that I'd like to see a movie version of, because I don't watch TV very much. However, I watch a lot of movies and I would like to see some of them become TV shows.

My top movie that I would like to become a TV show is the Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland. This movie was my most intense obsession for a little under 2 years after it came out. I think my passion for it would have lasted longer if there had been, say, an animated TV series that was based on it (kind of like there was for Beetlejuice). I would have loved to see the continuing adventures of the Mad Hatter and Alice, and for the culture of Underland to be delved into more deeply.

i'd like to see a friday the 13th slasher series. or a different kind of "perfect storm" every week. or a "flesh gordon" tv series or a "caligula" tv show done as a quasi-reality series [on only after the kiddies go to sleep, of course Wink ]. or better yet over all these, a "spirit of 76" time travel series with david cassidy reprising his role in the movie, only he gets to travel all over time and space, maybe even meeting up with bill and ted in their big adventure, maybe combine the two movies into one series.

I watch a lot of movies as well.

Here's an idea. How about a TV series of the Toy Story trilogy? Little stories that show events that occurred between the first and second movies and the second and third. Also what happened after the third.

Harry Potter would make a better TV show than movie series. You would have one season for each of the books and you'll be able to cover all the good stuff from the books and add more without cutting stuff out.

Source Code perhaps? I think it could work if it were hour-long episodes.

I would've said Napoleon Dynamite, but that new animated thing is horrible.

^^
I agree; that's why I don't watch it.

Superbad perhaps?
I think it could work if it were hour-long episodes on ABC or CBS
if all the profanity were taken out and the sexual content was kept to a minimum.

Donnie Darko
This movie, if made into a series, could give Dexter some competition in the ratings, if you think of it.

Moon
Sam Rockwell is one hell of an actor and since no one seems
to appreciate this guy's talents, give this guy a TV show based off of this!

Cyrus
Who knows if the Duplass Bros. will ever follow in the footsteps of the Coen Brothers. This comedy is about a man who meets the woman of his dreams and later learns she has a very close relationship {too close for comfort, mind you} with her grown son. If made into a series, the man and his woman's son may have become a human version of Tom and Jerry.

HBO could do a ten part miniseries based on LOTR. What shall they call it? The Game of Rings?

Secretary, maybe?

It could work if this could show what happened after the movie. Twisted Evil

Probably Lord of the Rings and Matrix can try to make a good tv series...

I agree. I think X-Men would make a great live action t.v. series.

I can see why that would sound like an enticing idea. The book series seems very episodic, so I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to convert each book into individual episodes. Also, it would be easy to include filler episodes to expound on the magical atmosphere of Hogwarts, and to add character development for some of the minor characters.
