I was chatting with someone last night who randomly offered me one.

I failed most of it...but I'm not colorblind. Wtf?

I have no issues at all in real life, never have.

I'm also unable to see holograms or 3D images, wonder if the two are related somehow.

Anyone have a similar experience?

Unless there's new research that proves otherwise, color-blindness only shows up in males. I'm not sure how that would affect your ability to see holograms or 3D images. That could perhaps be a depth perception problem. Did you have strabismus or amblyopia as a child?

It could have been the troll color blindness test. Show me what test he showed you.

Colour blindness can occur in females, but it's less likely. I think it's a problem with the x chromosome so whereas females have a backup males are stuck with it if they get the faulty gene.

LOL. To be fair it was a picture. Not an accurate test. I'll take a real one later but everyone else saw the colors that were there.

I don't have it.

Try here: http://www.toledo-bend.com/colorblind/Ishihara.asp. It should only take a minute, if you can see the number in each pattern you are ok for red/green.

I could never see those 3d things no matter how hard I tried, a lot of people couldn't though.

Oh, I didn't know it could show up in females. I know I don't have the red/green but there are times when certain shades I see as purple and others see as blue.

I've tried that and I still can't see it. I can't see 3 red squares.

It just gets blurry for me. I can't really notice a difference between my monocular and binocular vision.

I finally got it working withe the iPad and that site.. It's one of those things where once you do it once you can always do it... Oh and I had a different expectation to what I actually saw, the weird random background is still there, the shapes are filled with it too.

It can show up in females too. If one of the X chromosomes is defective and you are a male you get colorblindness, if you are a female you have two X chromosomes, both must be defective in order to get the disease (that means both parents must have defective X chromosomes), otherwise you are just a carrier.

Yup. Females have to have the colorblindness trait on both X chromosomes, while males only have one X chromosome, so if they have it on that one, then they're colorblind.
