It wouldn't make much of a difference in me, I guess. I guess I would be more social. I used to be a bit more social and I sometimes have a tendency to fall into "groupthink". Sometimes not. I have an odd mix of HFA and NT traits.

If I can keep my positive aspie traits and interests, then hell yes.

Otherwise, maybe. More likely not.

Yes and no. I wouldn't be able to answer because I don't really have a full understanding on NT's. The only plus part would be to maybe have a normal middle school life but past this I don't see really why I'd want to change. Confused

+ I like my flaps lol

If I could be NT with one person I would, but not with the rest of the world. I've grown too accustomed to being in solitude. I almost like it now.

Well it would have made our child a lot less painful. And Nt's wonder why some of us spray a gymnasium full of Nt's with "magic" bye byes.

The tragedy is not the fact that a few bullies and middle income brats lost their lives it's the fact(very sad) that nobody learned a thing, I'm having imagery now of Homer Simpson glazed eyed in a semi drunken stupor "I haven't learned a thing " Marge now groaning Wink

I call his a "September 11 moment."

Or the chickens (imperial in Sept 11's case) " chickens coming home to roost moment",

I've thought about this. I would love to be normal and function as a normal high school student. But the AS is what makes me, me.

Also I've read several times thy AS isn't bad, it is actually a good trait.

Yes of course I want to be an NT!!!!! For most of my life I've been trained by para professionals and therepists to make me at least seem NT-like. But I still don't completely act like an NT to this day. There's always gonna be that tiny little part of me that behaves like an autistic. I want that tiny part of me gone for good. I can't stand feeling like people are making fun of me behind my back or hearing about my peers hating me for being "weird." And I absolutely can't stand the fact that I have to lie about my AS by saying that I have ADD and I was only sent to therepists when I was younger because my mom thought I was crazy. I don't want to be afraid to tell people about my AS, and the only way I feel like that fear will go away is if I never had it. I envy NT's and their abilities to be fully functional in our society! Sad

If it made me have a life and ignore the general ignorance of the majority then of course I would!

I doubt I'd be ignorant to disabilities though if I kept my life the same throughout with my early speech problems (which are mostly fixed).

I like who I am but I would much rather be able to socialize, communicate, negotiate and advocate for myself the way others can and do. It holds me back financially and the biggest hinderance of all.

I wouldn't because I don't know how far I would have gotten in some things in life without being an aspie.

Why would I want to be someone other than myself?

No, I'd rather be an Aspie and have all my qualities I value along with having it than be NT. I have nothing against NT's though.
