Santorum won both southern states. That's something. Polls had him running 3rd in both. For some reason his support is routinely under polled.

So next he's going to win Missouri and this race is going on and on and on.

Well, we might know for sure soon, as he's scored high in the southern primaries tonight. So, if he somehow manages to beat Romney out (as in a brokered convention, providing Romney doesn't get the magic number), all light will be on Rick "Frothy" Santorum. And I mean all light - such as his membership in Opus Dei, his sleeping with one of his dead children, etc.

Santorum is trailing Romney by 212 "hard pledged" delegates according to The Green Papers, so while the Southern primaries are a bit of a surprise, he's definitely not catching up to him with any sort of alacrity.

One thing's for sure, though. I am really starting to regret switching my affiliation to Republican just to be able to vote in my state's closed primaries. Sad

I sure hope not. Then again it wouldn't surprise me...

This Sanitorium bloke doesn't half sound a bit weird. The politics of a foreign country are, er, foreign to me.

It's very unlikely that he'll win the whole thing. It's just fun political theater.

In the past few days Mitt Romney said Santorum is "too liberal". Santorum responded that Mitt Romney is a socialist.

Lol, perhaps on the 'family values' and social conservatism thing that Santorum is staking his whole race on.

I think I spent a good minute or two swearing this morning though when I saw the way Alabama and Mississippi went. Thankfully only one is winner-take-all AFAIK.

I actually give Santorum credit for acting as a barometer of sorts for me. Whenever I ask myself "am I crazy" for whatever reason...

...Yeah, I think it's self explanatory. I don't want to be on what he's on.

Just time limits instituted by state law to prevent people from switching back and forth in a really short period of time. So no, I'm thankfully not a Republican for life. Laughing

Could you provide a link to a direct quote of Santorum where he says he wants to ban contraception? I know he personally doesn't like it, but I haven't seen him say he would ban it.

Santorum doesn't scare me so much however the fact that a group of the American people are stupid enough to vote for him on the other hand scares the sh** out of me.

The perfect attack ad against Santorum would be:

Dear Americans, Christy McSweaterwest wants to deny women their reproductive rights, wants to ban blow-jobs, ban sex in any instance except for procreation. So women vote for Santorum if you want to be told what you can and can't do with your body by a council of elders consisting of just men and men vote for Santorum if you never want a blowjob again and never want sex outside of marriage.

Santorum loses.
