Anyone experienced it?

It's becoming so obvious with the party flyers in town here that I end up getting seriously brainfcked because of it, like they gave it to everyone in the street but are shamelessly skipping me over because they don't like me from first sight.

f**k that!

Are you sure it isn't just demographics? They may be targeting people for specific products / services / events in particular age ranges or genders?

Most flyers that I'm given end up in the next litter-bin down the street.

It was aimed at young people in general (male and female), I'm young and I got skipped.

The idea of it hurts me, like they have no damn reason not to pick me, even if you don't like the flyers it sure doesn't feel good to get ignored.

This wouldn't happen to be a college town would it?

Couldn't you ask for a flyer if you wanted one? If you didn't want one, but were upset you didn't get the offer, then maybe try to at least think you didn't have to waste 2 seconds of your time to say "Nah thanks".

I can see what you mean though about feeling left out / discriminated. Sometimes it's just nice to have the invitation and the choice. I have to agree with Tallyman though, it's all about the demographics and the target audience. They can't ask everyone. I had to hand them out before for my Uncle's shop, and the amount of people that I had to miss out was a lot, due to having to make quick assumptions about whether they'd take any notice, or just drop the flyer on the floor. It's just a waste then, of course. Also, there were quite a few rude people, no matter how polite and passive I was. Rolling Eyes

Personally I don't like being offered flyers most of the time (unless it's actually worthwhile to me, but that's a rarity). I find it awkward and I try not to come across as rude (unless they shove it right in my face then I don't care how I come across), but it's hard not to act rude in situations like that.

I actually do kind of prefer to be ignored when it comes to people popping out of nowhere to hand me stuff or tell me to donate to their cause via giving them my debit card info right there.........and persist even if I literally say 'I really don't have enough money.' or even 'I have nothing on my debit card so I can't.' so annoying.

But that said depending on how many people they were handing those to, maybe they didn't see you or maybe you looked un-intrested. I don't know I guess I just don't see what some random person handing out fliers would have against you.

Yeah but it was just a flyer for parties, sort of like an invitation, not that I wanna go there but being skipped on purpose doesn't really do me well sadly enough. Sort of like "hey you look like sh**, you don't deserve a flyer" and it happened like 3 times in a year already, by different people each time, good for my self-esteem.

This is one situation where I'm happy when I'm discriminated against. It can be likened (although I've no way of seeing it with e-mails) to someone sending spam to everyone but me.

If you would not even be interested in going to the party it's for I would not worry about it too much...I mean are these people you want to hang out with or talk to? and how are you sure they are specifically making sure not to hand you one? do they obviously acknowledge you or talk to you and then not give you one? I can see why the thought of being skipped specifically would bother you...as it would be kind of like when I was a kid and school and people purposely discluded me.

Also I mean I did not see you on these occasions, but what makes you look so sure you look like sh**? besides if it they really are that judgemental and that's why they don't want to give you flyers why would you care what such immature children think of you?

It gives me a bad idea of what people think of me. I certainly don't want to hang out with these people, but 3 times in a row is a bit too much, knowing that I personally actually never ever gotten such flyers in the first place.

People giving out flyers want to get rid of as many as possible. They aren't judging you except maybe as not part of their target demographic.

The only reason I can think for them not handling me flyers is that these girls are just way too arrogant, which tells me I must be living in a bad area.
