Okay, so you're surfing the internet one day (WP, Facebook, Youtube, etc.). You're going off, doing your usual routine, when you browse around your screen and comes across an advertisement for a dating site that has some connection to what you were looking at/what you were talking about with a friend earlier that day. Personally, it bugs me to no end. I mean, I've already come to the resolve that relationships shouldn't be at the forefront of my life currently, so I don't need society to tell me otherwise  |

Funny you should mention this.
I am a 36 yr-old male reading WrongPlanet. I am a member of a couple of dating sites and I have never indicated any interest in dating married women.
Why the hell do I continually get ad's on Wrong Planet for "Over 50s Dating" and "Married Dating" or "Affair Finder" sites????
I've also had a few ad's for lesbian dating sites, but that's easily explained...  |

Regrettably the public IP you show up as gives your general location away a lot of the time.
In general, I have fun by playing it like this: turn ads around a bit, turn them into "practice" for disregarding the distortions of perception which advertisement relies on in order to work. |

I get a little annoyed that the site is ripping lonely people off. Most of those sites charge money & tmo0st of the sites I see advertised on the net are smaller non mainstream type sites which means that there won't be a huge pool of members to chose from so less favorable odds on finding someone. The dating advertising that annoys me most is the spam email I get over 10x a day about how I can go on a date with a cheating wife
