I kept seeing this on Backloggery but assumed that this was a new pokemon....

I think this would be the most hardest challenge on Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow....ESPECIALLY with an overpowered Pikachu at the helm.

My advice would be to endlessly grind weak pokemon (the ones that don't faint your pokemon).

With Yellow, you get free Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle I believe though.

Aren't two of them in the same area though?

If I'm recalling correctly, Bulbasaur is given to you by an NPC in one of the houses in Cerulean, and Charmander is given by one up north of Cerulean. Don't recall exactly where Squirtle is, but I know he's somewhere in Vermillion. I also thought it had to do with how happy your Pikachu is.

I know the areas, but does routes count as separate areas or not? If Cerulean is all connected, then you can make a choice on Bulbasaur and Charmander.

They're separate.

Bulbasaur=house in Cerulean if Pikachu is happy enough. Charmander=after the nugget bridge. Squirtle=talk to Officer Jenny in Vermillion after you beat Lt. Surge.

I completed a Random Nuzlocke of Pokémon Yellow a while ago. And I lost only three Pokémon, even!

Tried it in Soul silver, failed miserably just before Claire.
I still mourn my starter....
