My special interest is Spongebob. This led to an interest in Nickelodeon in general, and various brief interests in other Nickelodeon shows (Victorious, iCarly etc). But lately, I've been drawn towards their preschool line-up ... which is even more embarrassing than my Spongebob obsession, but hey, these things can't be helped.
My two favourites are Bubble Guppies and The Fresh Beat Band.
Seriously ... I adore the Fresh Beat Band. I've developed a particular interest in their current live tour and have done the whole "scouring the internet for facts and videos" thing. It's not quite a "special interest" (certainly not as intense or prolonged as my Spongebob obsession) but I still log a lot more hours listening to the Fresh Beat Band than the average childless 20-year-old. 
Anyone else? Fess up. You know you want to.  |

I used to watch Dora the Explorer and Blue's Clues way past the age when it was appropriate. Strangely, I wasn't embarrassed about it at all, unlike how I felt when I became obsessed with My Little Pony a few months ago.
I also watched Yo Gabba Gabba when it first aired and even bought a T-shirt of it. It's on Netflix so I might watch it again.  |

| I've currently been rewatching some of the old Thomas the Tank Engine episodes. As a little boy I was totally into Thomas. I've been thinking alot more about this ever since I saw the Nostalgia Critic review of the godawful Thomas and the Magic Railroad. Through this I was able to learn and I'm not even lying here that there is a Thomas the Tank Engine movie in the works slated for 2013/14. It's set around World War II in which some preteen kid whose having Dad problems and discovers the island of Sodor and forms a bond with you know who. Sounds like this film is being more targeted at older audiences. |

| Confessions of an over 50 adult female. Yes, I like the old cartoons. Bugs Bunny, Tweety, Tom & Jerry, Pink Panther, Marine Boy, Star Blazers, Speed Racer, and others. I am not into most of the new stuff, although I do like Sponge Bob. I only watch during rare visits to my parent's summer home. I don't have cable or satellite TV, and the mountains block all broadcast signals. Also, my battered ancient TV is broken, so I can't even watch my DVDs and videos now. I do eventually plan to get a new set, and I eventually plan to get cable I-net (currently using a dial-up modem), plus something like Roku, so I can watch free I-net TV on the new set, but they all have to wait their turns on my priorities list. |

Well, I've seen my share of preschool shows, and have come to appreciate when a good one comes along. The same with preschool lit. I appreciate them if only because some of the others are such a torture to watch. In the time that I've had preschoolers around (the youngest is in kindergarten now, the oldest is 14), here's the shows I actually could watch with them and enjoy myself, and would watch again if I could:
Peep and the Big, Wide World (actually made me laugh)
Blues Clues, the Steve years... I've actually had online chats with other moms about this. Joe, Steve's "brother", was of that variety of actor in children's entertainment who clearly doesn't get how to talk to a kid. They grin a lot and you can smell their fear. Steve... well, it's like he was a kid, a kid who could do Elvis impressions. Those episodes are TV classics.

Story Time
Max and Ruby - actually annoying in many ways, yet boasts a perfect toddler... He gives his "wonderful" sister loads of trouble, speaks in single word sentences... he's like the rabbit version of my son. And there was a dance Max did when he was really happy that we just had to imitate.
And then there were the hypnotic ones, shows I watched either because I just couldn't believe my eyes, because they had something in there that I liked, or because for some reason I was temporarily fond of them. These include episodes of Go, Diego, Go and episodes of Dora the Explorer... specifically the one with the Strawberry Festival and the one with the poor little bull plummeting in a leaky hot air balloon while screaming "sticky tape!!!" in hopes of dubious rescue... also seeing Tico take an acorn to the head... also...

Yo Gabba Gabba - where else can a little kid get beat boxing tips?
The Backyardigans - some of the most... tolerable... music in a kids' show, even if it isn't original. I would mind having Mystery Lifeguard on my iPod.
And I'm probably forgetting some. Also, we've recently discovered Pingu, which is pretty good. As for the dislikes, it'd take too long.

Guilty. I don't mind Yo Gabba Gabba and Pocoyo.
Also to tb86: 'Sparkle, sparkle sparkle' Ive seen the Nostaglia Critics review of the Thomas movie. Give me the old eps with Ringo Starr narrating any day.

When I'm sick, I'm usually in bed for most of the day. So I usually just watch television. Now, where I live, television stations during weekdays are very boring until prime time. If you want to watch anything aimed at adults, you're probably set for 1970s documentaries on obscure nineteenth-century painters, or shows that try to pressure you into buying stuff you don't need.
My best guess for anything with a remote amount of quality is usually BBC 1 or BBC 2, or one of the local television stations for children. They generally broadcast some pretty good shows.
Sometimes, when I see shows that I used to love, I laugh at myself for being so obsessed with such absurd shows.
I enjoyed watching Brum, and Thomas & Friends, and later on the Teletubbies for ironic value. There were some local Dutch shows that I enjoyed, too.
Oh, and Snorks. That show was so trippy, and I was into ships at the time I first watched that, so yes - I enjoyed that,

Peep. For my money the greatest preschool series of all time. Yes, better than Sesame Street (which I think is still amusing sometimes).
I've also gotten into the Octonauts, though I've pretty much avoided Disney Junior's redubs. |

| Do you know this show called "Yo Gabba Gabba"? My sister has a child of about 2 that I occasionally watch (not really since there is usually someone else there as well). I thought that the tv shows would be horrible and degrading of intelligence but, I can't look away from them when they're on. I think that the 2 year old can stop watching longer than I can. It's really saddening. It might have to do with the bright colors plus half of the characters are plush. I can't help but feel their softness in my mind. So yeah, don't feel bad about watching them. |

My avatar is the logo for a railroad in Thomas the Tank Engine that i'm very fond of.
Yeah, there's more than one railroad in Thomas & Friends. It's a pretty detailed world. I think I'm more interested in the books then the show though. I don't watch it exclusively, but I don't mind it when I do watch it from time to time.

I really like Doc McStuffins.  It's a Disney Jr. show about a little girl who pretends to be a doctor and fixes up toys and stuffed animals who are "sick" or broken, and it's really quite cute. I even bought a few episodes on Amazon Instant Video.
Other "preschool" shows that I like that aren't aired anymore are DragonTales, Harry and his Bucket Full of Dinosaurs, Katie and Orbie, and The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
