I'm probably heterosexual. To be honest, I don't care.

EDIT : I could have said asexual, but I don't know. I think the concept of asexuality to be vaguely defined. Anyway, I don't care enough about sexuality in general to care about my particular tag, so until further notice, I am heterosexual.

Actually I believe that it is none of the above. I personally believe that there is no such thing as 100% hetero or 100% gay, but that it is a continuous spectrum between the two extremes just like autism, and just like limits in differential calculus, the extremes may be approached but can never actually be reached.

I would have to say that I am probably about 95% gay. I would not turn down a woman if ever offered to me, but nobody has done so in 61 years and those I have asked out on a date have always turned me down. I am still a hetero virgin. I have similar problems with guys and have not had sex in 14 years... not at all by choice... and the hypocrites terrorize me for it too.

Well I have never seen a guy and thought- I want to have sex with him.

Looks like most people (including me) selected ''hetersexual'', so it looks like it's rather common.

Most people are heterosexual (I know obvious) but it would be helpful if the "normal" percentages for the options were edited into the op.

One thing that strikes me about the percentages is how low the hetero percentage is here. Even if you combine the hetero and asexual percentages (non-GLBT) you only get 72% as of the present time (62 samples). This is much lower than the commonly quoted percentage of heteros in the population as a whole of 90-95%. The small sample size may play a role too. It would really be interesting to see this poll with several hundred responses.

I'm asexual, but I DO want a mate.
I'm hetero-romantic.

Wow guys, thanks for all the wonderful posts and opinions. I never meant to seem biased or sexist. I was just posing a question. Some of these answers are both intriguing and scary!

Maybe I should've included the Heteroromantic, biromantic, ect, as well...

I think there's more of a chance that you may be asexual than if you were neurotypical just because of the way people with AS don't really like contact with people as much as neurotypicals and just the way their emotions are. I'm heterosexual but I'm extremely picky about guys and I'm not attracted to men that easily. I'm not attracted to women either. In a way I'd say I'm very close to being asexual but I am attracted to the odd guy, it's very rare though.

Yes. NTs tend to have less contact issues and more sexual libido than ASDs. Though it seems Asexuality isn't all that common among ASDs. It's uncommon enough among NTs. >^>

Well I'm the same way after having a run in with the irritating and pitiful lady ie she claimed the men at the "Meet ups" either irritated her or aroused her self pity (sounds about right to me Wink ) I think why bother?

That and I've got better things to do with my time than make myself lovable Confused ; to some one (pets are easy in that regard thank god Smile )

For the people who say they are asexual: do you simply have a lack of desire for actual sex, or do you have a total lack of physical/sexual attraction to people? I'm just curious.

For the first few years of puberty, sex had no appeal to me whatsoever. But I always have considered myself hetero for being attracted to girls.

Naw, they don't seem "biased" to me.
It gets super complicated when you get into romantic orientation-
best to keep it simple. Smile

I lack sexual attraction to people.
I'm attracted to men, but there's nothing sexual about it.
I would say "Okay!" to a relationship where my partner and I rarely touched at all.

According to most asexuals, I can't be asexual because I do have a sex drive, but I think you can be asexual by choice, which is sort of what I am.

Sexual orientation and gender identity are not interchangeable terms.

Asexuals can have a sex drive.
I do, though it's next to non-existent- it's not directed at people.

Yeah, I wondered about the inclusion of "transsexual", come to think of it.
