Is it common for people on the spectrum to be either on or off? To be either obsessed or uninterested? To engage in black and white thinking? Basically, is it common to be on either of the "extremes" but hardly ever somewhere in-between? That's how my brain works.

I'm the same. I also tend to either speak too much or too little and my voice is either too loud or too quiet. Those are also "extremes".

That pic with the switch is depressingly true for me. That's why it's hard talking to people about topics outside of my limited range of interests. I don't like the idea of faking interest either.
