I'd describe myself as straight, I guess. Not to say I haven't been confused about it before. I've always known I'm attracted to girls. But then you have this sort of stigma that anything different than manly should be seen as gay, so until I found out about femdom I was unsure whether there was any sort of small hint of bisexuality in me. That said, I've never been attracted to males specifically, either mentally or physically, despite being curious. _________________ About suffering they were never wrong,

The only person I am sexually attracted to is my husband (I am being completely honest here). I'm attracted to him, as a person, not a man. If this person I love was female, I would probably be attracted to her just the same. I'm not at all confused by my sexuality, probably because I don't even think about it - what's there to think about when you're in a monogamous relationship and not in the least bit tempted to stray? But, if I wasn't with him, I could be with any gender, I'm pretty sure about that. I suppose I'm pansexual/omnisexual, as bisexual doesn't describe my sexuality properly and does really not encompass people who are intersex. _________________ "We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all we need to make us really happy is something to be enthusiatic about." In terms of who I am attracted to, mostly females but occasionally males (I'm male) probably in the range of 80%/30% respectively, though my attraction is usually quite low...
In terms of emotional attraction, doesn't really matter to me what gender they are as long as I like them.
In terms of actually having a sexual relationship, I suppose I am asexual by choice, because the concept of actually having sex with somebody makes me uncomfortable. |

For the first few years of puberty, sex had no appeal to me whatsoever. But I always have considered myself hetero for being attracted to girls. |
For me, I just have a lack of sexual attraction to people. I guess I'm more of a personality girl, I'm just extremely picky about guys. |

I can't really respond fully to this poll. Typically, I'd select 'heterosexual', because I'm female and am attracted to males. However, I see that you included options like 'transgender', so perhaps you're looking for differences in gender, also?
I'm bi-gendered, in that I sometimes feel female and sometimes feel male. No matter how I'm feeling, though, I am attracted to men. It's just that, when I'm feeling male, I am attracted to GAY men, and when I'm feeling female, I'm attracted to STRAIGHT men.
I present at all times as female, but wish that I could wear male clothes sometimes, as I did growing up. The issue is, though, that when people see a woman in men's clothes, they assume she is a lesbian, and that is far, far from the case with me. _________________ Aspie Quiz: AS - 141/200, NT - 77/200 (Very likely an Aspie)

Ah. Gender-identity confusion can happen to anybody. While I always feel like a female (and proud to be so!), I know a couple people who feel they were born with the wrong gentalia. The poor dears get all the wrong tar-brushes. They're called all sorts of things, not limited to various derogrative terms for Homosexual.
I mostly feel female with no gender-preferences, but would rrather be in a romantic relation with a man rather than a woman. Asexual-Heteroromantic. I have no interest in my (non-existant!) boyfriend waving his penis around. They honestly frighten me. Quite badly, in fact. |

I think they're two separate characteristics, and sexuality can go any direction in NTs or in Autistics. What I will say, is that high-functioning and Asperger's people, tend to APPEAR to others as Gay, when we're not in all cases. About 80% of people I met from my early teens to now, believe I was or am Gay, and I happen to be straight. Our mannerisms seem to be similar to Gay traits; a different walk with different hand movements, and the perceived aversion to confrontations or fights, and the lack of dating skills in many or even most cases. I will also say that no Gay man has ever thought I was Gay... It's only straight NT men who think that

| Not to sound rude, but find it amusing when it was only the straight men who thought you were gay. The gay men knew you were straight. Makes me wonder, does that make them more understanding? |

I am peoplesexual. If Rabbit was a hermaphrodite that spent most of their life being "female" until now it wouldn't make a difference.
Edits: Also, I have been all sorts of things growing up and just picking one is pointless, so that's why I stick with peoplesexual even if I am in a straight relationship now.
Another thing, about the question on the thread, I think it seems a lot of auties have weird orientations because people with unusual orientations (gay, bi etc) are more likely to post about it. Just your run of the mill straight guy might not be as interesting or unusual for people to read about. _________________ The butterfly, the tiger, just another shadow in the stone

I'm starting to do that more. I got a nice lined 3x men's flannel jacket at K-mart recently on sale and wear that when it's cold. In the summer I usually wear 2x size t-shirts. Last time I was at the mall I saw some nice men's shorts I liked and might try them on and get a pair next time I go. They'll go nice with my hairy legs. They are knee length too. I don't like short shorts. I don't like how a lot of pants they have now for females don't go up to the waist.
I'm thinking that since I won't wear a bathing suit maybe I could get long men's swimming trunks. I've seen guys wearing ones down to their knees. If they can wear that then so can I. |

I do think most gay people are capable of forming emotional attractions to the opposite sex, I wouldn't call mine romantic though.
For a long time I dated men just because of the emotional attraction and I REALLY liked them. Like best friends for me, I don't relate to women the same way and I really wish I did.
I also feel male but won't call myself trans or bigender, I just don't like having a lot of labels and I don't think what I feel is all that uncommon so I don't care, but again, I really wish I was hetero for this reason.
At the end of the day the sexual attractions are much more fulfilling for me than the emotional ones and I have never been sexually attracted to anyone with a Y chromosome in my life. I did have sex with them, though and I would do it again. I don't see anything wrong with homosexual people experimenting. _________________ AD/HD BAP.

My theory is that society has created 'expectations' for both genders and I don't even know why. Gender roles are a terrible thing. For me, as a female, I don't feel I need to wear 'female' clothing just because I'm female. I wear whatever I like. You should wear what you want. Don't care what others think. Wearing 'male' clothes doesn't make you any less female. Same goes for guys. People should wear whatever they like without being told they "look like" the opposite sex. It's ridiculous. Why define a gender by things we do to our appearance?? I'm female, but does that mean I should paint my face with make-up everyday? No. Why do most people think they need to appear a particular way? Usually comes down to "because I'm a girl, not a boy" or "because I'm a boy, not a girl." And that's plain wrong. Clothes in a clothes store are just CLOTHES, and that's it. Take your pick. |
