TLS being The Last Story.
I am British and bought the game Day One and only just got into it.
The first hour into the game, Syreene (the character) mentions booze...and she does this most of the way through the game...and she even suggests getting into a bath with another woman, in which you can be a peeking tom if you wish (you won't see anything).
Then you have a few side quests such as abductions and the like.
You even see a scene where a Knight says to his pupil that he'll never get a girlfriend because of the way he is!
I think that the dialect (since it has some swearing and british words in it) as well as it's content will be cut by Nintendo of America sadly.
I love this game personally, as most of the things in the game are true to life (if you look around the town and stuff), and I am pretty shocked that this game is so brash and honest that I now wonder if future games will be more like this in the future as it's a nice change to everyone in the world thinks everything is alright in the world where lesbians don't exist or sex pests/stalkers as well as a pub (that has brawls in it) don't happen.
What do you guys think? Will NOA dilute this game at all? _________________ Just a guy who gives advice and talks a lot.

It's possible, it's not like they haven't before. What I would say as a counter to that is it's very late into the Wii's life cycle and the game is aimed at the core audience and unlikely to be picked up by the casual family Wii owners, so there's the possibility they might let it go with an advisory on the box.
That's true, but it'd be a shame to not show America what true Brits and Irish are like in their lives. _________________ Just a guy who gives advice and talks a lot.

Definitely, seems like the Wii's having a 'last hurrah'. Shame I got rid of mine a year ago. The Last Story, Xenoblade Chronicles and Pandora's Tower all seem like great games. If Wii-U is backwards compatible, I might pick them all up.

Xenoblade is the best RPG you will ever play, it makes sense (unlike XIII), it is long and has loads of content.
The Last Story is more or less for lulz, like I said in my last thread, so much sexual innuendo and always has a laugh at itself, but the story is good enough to get into (not as good as Xenoblade).
PT, I have no idea about yet, will let you know once I play it. _________________ Just a guy who gives advice and talks a lot.

They're a Japanese developer's take on Western action RPGs, and as a result they're unique. I can only go with my gut, really. Before I started Demon's Souls I was in the middle of yet another game malaise. Once every couple of years I get completely sickened with games, but it totally restored my faith, so once I completed it, I got straight into Dark Souls. Dark is Demon's slightly more sinister, tougher, leaner and darker cousin, rather than a sequel. Both are different games, both are quite similar games, that sounds odd, but try them and you'll see. There's a lot of focus in the media about the difficulty, but they're not that difficult, they're just very oldschool. Think about NES or SNES games, where you didn't have checkpoints etc. If you die, you start at the beginning again, the games are never cheap, so you never feel cheated and starting over isn't really an issue. The more times you die, the more you learn, until it gets to the stage that you have a world completely choreographed. What once seemed difficult becomes so easy to you, you could play it blindfolded and you can go back and revisit sections to grind if you need to. For me, they're both some of the best games I've ever played. They're so well designed and balanced.

Ah I see, interesting...although I am not one for learning gaming patterns in old school games (the only old school games I have ever beaten are Streets of Rage and the Sonic games) .
I will look into it but I can't promise anything, I do like the idea of it. _________________ Just a guy who gives advice and talks a lot.
Yeah, I've never really heard of any Nintendo games push the envelope like that. Now if you want a JRPG with a decent plotline and gameplay system that toes the line just short of mature audiences only, look no further than Shin Megami Tensei: Persona. After playing P4, P3:FES, and the female protagonist storyline from P3P, I can safely say that this game does not conform to Western social norms. In fact, it defies it. Atlus made damn sure to cut only the bare minimum of content required to keep the game at an M rating and not higher. Just look at characters like Kanji Tatsumi or Shinjiro Aragaki. I'm pretty sure Rick Santorum would have a stroke if he walked in on anyone playing a Persona game, lol _________________ "Yeah, so this one time, I tried playing poker with tarot cards... got a full house, and about four people died." ~ Unknown comedian
Happy New Year from WP's resident fortune-teller! May the cards be ever in your favor.
I don't know anything about this game, but NOA has come a long way since the NES days. I'm always surprised how much they get away with every time a new Dragon Quest game comes out (and IX was published by Nintendo themselves in the States). _________________ How wonderful to be so profound.
