hey all,

Found a cool site with fashion advice for nerds. most of the stuff they say is correct but I disagree with their rule prohibiting tight jeans... i mean yeah really tight isnt good but don't wear overly baggy stuff either.

yes unless you're jogging outside in the winter (i think). I figure i might as well dress really sleek just because people listen to me more when I do.

I feel more professional when wearing more formal clothes and I think people are more likely to view me as more mature. I think I have pretty good sense of fashion, but when it comes to wearing abercrombie and aeropostale and all those pretty boy preppy flock mentality clothes, no thank you! I do dress a little nerdy (or more positively, more mature), but I am absolutely aware of the stylishness of my choices. I would rather dress a little more proffesional because thats who I am. Recently I got a bunch of buttoned shirts because I had mostly tshirts before, and I decided to really start dressing professionaly more, especially considering I'll be out in the work place soon. And I just feel better in formal.

umm, I have worn socks and sandals in the past because its comfortable. I don't think thats an aboslute fashion no no if you like it. If you can avoid it, yeah, but if you feel comfortable with your fashion overall, theres nothing wrong with doing a few things that aren't "right".

Oh, I agree. I used to wear socks under my sandals all through middle school. Now, I feel like I was a total loser then.

Well, not really.

I think #7 is a good one ditch the facial hair. Guys are too hairy these days. I've noticed the clean cut guys with short hair get all the attention at work. Goatees are for goats.

I didn't know about untucking the shirt and wearing belts. I normally do both but thought I looked nerdy that way.

What about polos and AS? I was once at an AS meeting and every adult there was wearing a polo shirt (including me). So now I am thinking its probably nerdy and is just the AS idea of what we think dressing up is except we really wear it because its cotton because we probably all have textile sensitivity issues. I know the guys need to not button that top button on the polo because they look like their mom dressed them. But I don't know are polos ok or not?

What about Crocs? Will someone ban Crocs? Those things are uglier than sin on everybody.

I'll stop wearing my ancient holey sweater when it's pried from my cold, dead fingers.

Yeah, woman-specific advice would be useful Razz I have negative fashion sense. If there's such a thing as the inverse of fashion I'm it... Reading the site now with great interest.
