I'm wondering to hear similiar stories from people if they have problems with 'too many things' which is when you have lots of different things such as keeping clean, doing maths homework, doing chore, eating, doing hobby, doing geography homework. And those many things all mix around your head till you get so confused and I thinks it is a really big task and won't start doing the things and can't see the solution because it is all muddled and as big as a mountain?
I am wondering if anybody elses experiences?
And how they help to stop those many things and worrying about those many things when you are confused? |

| Yes, it all becomes very overwhelming and usually won't get done until the last second or not at all. |

| I used to have this problem but I learned to break it up into smaller pieces. I just have to pick a task and do that. |

| My psychologist calls it the "50 TVs" because it's like watching 50 TV sets at once, whereas most NTs are usually just watching one. (Or none, if you ask me.) |

That sounds like me. I have too many things in my head. Not just stuff I have to do, but ideas and creative and technical things too. So along with the necessary, mundane things, there's the things that make my life worth living. I've had to get used to being a bit rubbish at 'normal' stuff, and knowing that I'm kind of cr@p at being a person, but that the potential I have in my head is amazing.
So yeah, that's familiar, in a big way. _________________ 'I may not amount to much, but at least I am unique.' ~ Jean-Jacques Rousseau

yep.
It's a pain. And that is an understatement . It's a 'whirl' strongly vying for attention. Anxiety heightens. I find it valuable to take a break and do something completely different. I've noticed that someone may happen come around at the time, and the distraction breaks the spell. This re-centers my mind and I gain a balance. The mountain is reduced. _________________

| I have this happen alot. When at work I have to tell people to stop and let me think and try to break it up. I have so much going on inside of my head that it is hard to break it up when people are coming at me with other things. |

| No I don't this problem. Generally when I do a task all of my thinking and focus is on that task, not to say I cannot change focus when needed. I have no problem switching task and focus quickly. I often have multiple work assignments that must be done the same time, so I will switch back and forth between them. At any one moment though, the only thing on my mind is the task I am working on. So this must not be something that affects all ASD people. |

| Yeah. This is why I have so much difficulty cleaning, and one of the things that makes decisions hard. I can't filter out what's relevant and what isn't. |

I focus on the single most important thing, and forget about the others. Otherwise I'd never get even one thing done. |

Yes, this is a huge problem for me. I find it easier if I can develop rituals and schedules, but when every day is different I struggle with this. _________________ "My personal tragedy will not interfere with my ability to do good hair." - Steel Magnolias |

| I can start getting a little freaked out when stuff begins to pile up. At work, whatever people bug me about becomes my priority, so that's how I manage; if people don't need something from me, I won't work on it until they do. I've had a couple mini meltdowns at work, though, because I had too much going on. |
