I had this problem as a child, quite severely. Now my favorite shoes are still flip flops or none |

I don't mind wearing socks or shoes, but if they're the least bit uncomfortable I can't think about anything else. And if my sock gets caught up on a ragged bit of toenail or rough skin - AAAAARGH... |

I wear tube socks with reinforced toes and heels, they come up just below my calves though they usually fall down to above my ankles. My feet aren't to sensitive. I don't like my feet being cold, or my socks feeling wet and/or thickened with dirt on the bottoms, though I'd prefer my socks to be covered in dirt than my bare feet to be. I have had socks with an inseam that annoyed my toe nails and were to tight around my ankles.
The most comfortable shoes are New Balance walking shoes, they look more like tennis shoes. |

In the cold months when I wear socks, I wear ankle high white cotton socks that aren't too tight, especially around the ankles. I don't like them tight, but not overly loose either.
My choice of shoes in the cold months are basic tennis shoes. Then when it gets warm I wear sandals or flip flops when I go out someplace.
I prefer being barefoot to wearing shoes and socks. Around the house and outdoors around here I'm usually barefoot in the warmer months. I'm fine with being barefoot.
My feet are fairly sensitive, but not to the point of being extreme. I like the textures of carpet, grass, and sidewalks on them. _________________ "BLESSINGS on thee, little man,

| I hate socks. I only wear them if I have to go outside in the winter. As soon as I get home the socks come off. |

I wear these mens' socks from Land's End that are seamless. My feet are actually the least oversensitive part of my body. I used to go barefoot around the house all the time but calluses on my feet in 2007 and later severe OCD put an end to that. I remember those days when I would ocasionally run barefoot on the street (not far or often) and my mom tells me that when I was 4 years old I once insisted on busting out of church barefoot when it was time to go home (that's another story!). It was in the dead of winter that day so you can imagine what that was like! _________________ Letting go is not a skill--it's the lazy way out. I wear american eagle socks (small socks that stretch to fit). And merrel vibram trail glove shoes (trail glove is the actual name). Very comfortable, more room for your toes than most shoes and they are really light, and look cool. I researched a long time before I got them. I love them . They are also supposed to be better for you fee.
Vibram is a barefoot shoe brand. Merrel makes boots. They worked together to make a barefoot style shoe that is close toed.
I go barefoot at home sometimes. Not really outside of the house because of glass or other stuff that might hurt, and it is not generally socially acceptable. _________________ www.wrongplanet.net |

| In the cold winter months I wear: Alaskan Nits (they're a wool blend sock...) Hiking and the really thick women's socks. FYI: I've got Reynaud's Phenomenon...That means I can't really wear cotton blends in the winter. If I do my feet turn (In this order): Pink, purple, and blue. Along with getting a nasty little blister on my toes and my feet getting numb sometimes. Besides necessity, they're actually pretty comfy..Not to mention seamless. |

I love socks! But I am very picky about my socks. I have soft cushy socks that are not tight that I wear to bed, but only certain ones, because I do not like the toe seam to become crooked during the night. So they have to be tight enough to stay put but not too tight. I wear slightly tighter socks during the day, but not ankle socks. The best socks are flip flop socks from V-toe. They separate the big toe but leave the other toes together. I like having something between my big toe and second toe. This also prevents the sock from rotating the toe seam. There are other flip flop socks that are ankle height, but I want my socks to go up my leg a bit (but not to my knees).
For shoes I wear tennis shoes or flip flops or my crocs. I also have another pair of sandals that look a bit nicer and separate the big toe. I do wear heals sometimes, but I have to be careful not to fall in them. I have several pairs of shoes that I have because they are cute, but I do not wear them frequently, they are more like a collection.
I will go barefoot if it is warm enough around the house or in grass (assuming it is not a grass I am allergic to - rashes are not fun). |

I'm barefoot most of the time. I wear socks when I want to relax, and I'll wear any shoes that fit me (seeing as finding anything fashionable to fit my Sasquatch feet is nearly impossible). _________________ Feel free to drop me a PM, but it may take a while to reply. I don't bite, though.

| They make seamless socks now. I had the same darn problem as a kid, and still sometimes now. I used to scream and scream and cry when the seams touched my feet. |

I have a love/hate relationship with socks... |
Same here... I hate the feeling of socks - I have to wear them inside out otherwise the seam hurts the tops of my toes. I wear them for warmth and because it makes my shoes more comfy (shoes are a whole OTHER story of love/hate)...
Edit to say: it goes further than that... I find that many materials make my feet sore and/or give me burning sensations... It's hard finding socks I can wear. They generally tend to be thin and 100% cotton and even that's not always enough |

I have one type of sock which I find comfortable - organic cotton sports socks from H&M. I'm unable to feel the seams and they're thick, but squash down around my feet, when I wear shoes. My world changed when I discovered them. _________________ "We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all we need to make us really happy is something to be enthusiatic about." | I like socks but HATE shoes. I would go barefoot but I've heard of a lot of people getting parasites from walking barefoot outside. |
