Faith is stronger? I think faith makes people weaker. You admit your fate as god's will rather than as something you can and should fix. It is the definition of weakness.

Well I hope you never are faced with the choice of dying for something that doesn't exist. But at least you'll die happy I suppose _________________ Opportunities multiply as they are seized. -Sun Tzu

Hmm clever response but it takes more faith not to believe then it does to believe in something that is bigger then yourself. |

| oh but it does think of God as the mathematical letter X it is the unknown and belief in God is like a belief in something that is uncetin to be real but belief is a very powerful thing. You don't believe in God but I do it is the perfect balance of Yin and Yang one can't existice with out the other. |

Vexcalibur, have you ever had the kind of faith being talked about to know that. My experience is very much otherwise. |

What I think a lot of the atheists are complaining about is politicians imposing the "major" religion on non-believers.
I agree this shouldn't be tolerated.
BUT, I believe we should have respect for anyone's intelligence, regardless of their belief or lack thereof.
as long as you can accept things like evolution and the big bang theory and not offend anyone's belief or non-belief, it's all good.
You may disrespect the intelligence of stupid people of certain beliefs, but not the actual belief itself.
However, it should be noted that this does not rule out intelligent discussion of either politics or religion.
That is my stance on the subject. I am also a secularist. _________________ "I watched a change in you, It's like you never had wings, now you feel so alive" |

I can respect the intelligence of a person, but not respect their beliefs. An illogical or unsubstantiated belief is subject to criticism. Just because a belief is based on religion and not, say, Bigfoot, doesn't mean that it should be exempted from critical examination. |
