The new Three Stooges movie, which looks terrible, has apparently caused a surge of interest in Stoogedom. I was a huge Stooge fan as a kid – my dad would let me stay up way, way too late, around midnight or one in the morning, to watch Stooge shorts on cable TV, and I remember checking out a book about the history of the Stooges from the school library and devouring it in a single day. I've sort of lost track of the Stooges since then, but with the recent surge of popularity, Stooge shorts have been shown a lot on late night TV, and I've been getting sucked back in.

Anyway, this topic isn't about my boring history of fandom. I want to know who everyone's favorite Stooge is. I've always felt like I was in the minority because I liked Shemp the most, and he seemed to be the most unpopular Stooge. I've also found myself defending Joe and Curly Joe, but I digress. Onto the poll. Who's your favorite Stooge?

That would be Curly. He's my favorite as well as my dad's. My brother's favorite Stooge is Moe.

i bet i'm the only one here who likes the colorized shorts. anyways, i only liked watching moe in the very few episodes where he gets his own hard knocks, instead of him bashing the others all the time.

Larry is my favorite stooge.

Shemp would be a close second.

Joe and Curly Joe totally suck.

That is all.

Those were pretty much entirely the ones with Joe. He was the only one who dared to hit Moe back and get away with it. He isn't my favorite, but he deserves more recognition than he gets.

am i the only one here who has seen bits of the [latest] stooge remake, and found it a pale imitation of the real thing? not quite as disappointing as steve martin's well-intentioned turn as inspector clouseau, but a bit like laughing one's ass off at an original and then watching it again right afterwards.

Whoops, I meant to vote for Moe.

I suspect that if I were around someone as obnoxious as Moe I would quickly not be around him anymore, BUT as far as comedic slapstickosity I find Moe the most humorous overall.. he's friggin insane

Does it seem to you that all three Stooges display
Aspie-like behavior, or is it just the way they are?

I like all three Stooges; it's hard to determine just one favorite Stooge.
