References: here and here
Two quick sketches of African headrests, one from ancient Egypt and another, more recent one from the Tsonga people of the continent's southeastern region. Many traditional African peoples used headrests instead of pillows for sleeping, as these allowed air to circulate around the head (a benefit in the hot African climate).
I chose the subject of headrests because they're one of the many links between the ancient Egyptian and so-called "sub-Saharan" African cultures that most people don't acknowledge. Most people classify Egypt as a Near Eastern or Mediterranean culture, but while it definitely interacted with those other regions, I prefer to perceive it as a fundamentally African civilization. |

Okay, I screwed the right wing up a little bit. But I drew this in pen. :/

Picture resized | That's a cool angle to show the wings! It looks like it's in a landing position.

I concur that the griffin is pretty neat.
I'm not really a hardcore TMNT fan, but I do have fond memories of the old 1987 cartoon, and recently I had a dream in which the Turtles appeared. This rendition of Don is pretty much my own design rather than an imitation of any of the cartoons' style though; the eyes are meant to make him look more reptilian. |

This was intended to be the reference for a drawing, but I ended up liking the reference more then the drawing, so here it is.

I think you need a certain number of posts before you can post pics. _________________ Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it.

I'll give this one more go.
I'm a dabbler in mediums, mostly just lips and eyes stay the same!
Hardly anything I do is "school appropriate"
My newest sketch
Index finger sized dolls, I call the Sleepy eye Collection.
Drawing for my interactive novel called Angel's Fall
My first doll

Thanks! I really don't know either... I think I called it a Fawnling, or uni-dragon water fawn on a book page |

Although writing used to be my main artistic focus (I am also a soprano-one ranged singer, though I have only done it in small stints like in my old college choir and when I do the dishes) I have tended to doodle quite often. I have been dedicatedly sketching for the past three months and finally got up the courage to start uploading my stuff on deviantArt.
This is one of my most recent pieces and one of my favorites.
I love curvatures and what you can do so I wanted to make something stunning yet simple.

a being composed of almost* pure energy as seen with whatever sense it takes to see it (and then translated into visual patterns by me).
* if it was completely pure energy, it would have no form.
