Quote:
What would Jesus do with the U.S. economy?

That's a matter of fierce debate among Christians — with conservatives promoting a small-government Jesus and liberals seeing Jesus as an advocate for the poor.

After the House passed its budget last month, liberal religious leaders said the Republican plan, which lowered taxes and cut services to the poor, was an affront to the Gospel — and particularly Jesus' command to care for the poor.

Not so, says Wisconsin Republican Rep. Paul Ryan, who chairs the House Budget Committee. He told Christian Broadcasting Network last week that it was his Catholic faith that helped shape the budget plan. In his view, the Catholic principle of subsidiarity suggests the government should have little role in helping the poor.

So, this is the new level of political debate on social policy in America...

Jesus was constantly referring to "the Kingdom of Heaven". It is large, so ya Jesus is for large government, but it's a theocracy -- God is the king.

And how does God plan to finance those golden streets and mansions?

Does it really matter what Jesus wanted? By god America is a messed up country. No where else in the Western world would you see debate of public policy be influenced by scripture.

So, God a federalist? ...anti state's rights?

He sounds like a reasonable Super-Being.

If the world was under one government, it would still be small and local compared to God's universal rule...as long as you believed in him.

While Israel is not Western in its location, it is Western in its values. And Scripture profoundly influences their policies, besides giving them a Divine land grant to the place.

Definitely not, at least if you ask Jehova Witnesses. What was it called, the Council of 144,000 or something?

Western Values do not involve scripture working to sanction slaughter and repression, let alone governance. A "Divine Land Grant" is utterly worthless. I have a Divine Land Grant from Cthulhu to your backyard, so move out or there will be trouble

Your right when it comes to Jehova Witnesses they how ever rewrote the entire bible in their image which seperates them from catholics and proestants.

"If the world was under one government"? Wait for it.

Quote:

...and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
...And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.... It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name... Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.

(Rev 13:4, 7-8, 16-18)
