Hi All,
I have ridden road bikes for years; however, I'm ready to get into the MTB game. I want to know what you guys like to ride and why.
I have heard 29ers are great once up to speed and roll over anything while 26ers are more agile and easier to accelerate. The guy at my local bike is pushing 650B hard as the best of both worlds.
Any and all advice is welcome. A bike is a big investment.

Hey dudes,
I ride all year round, on and off road, and can highly recommend it!
With regard to what bike to go for, i personally ride a 26er when hurtling through the woods, or through country trails, as, like you say, you have a bit more control. But, a cycling buddy has just brought a 29er and swears by it. I do get a feeling he will come unstuck soon though! A lot also depends on the tyres you use, the type of terrain, and the general set up of the bike. If you find a good HONEST dealer/shop they should be able to impart some free advise, and point you in the right direction. I could go on for ever about bike stuff, as it is one of my special interests, but at the end of the day, if you like a particular bike, and it feels right, go with it.
I also have a hybrid which i commute on(700c), and a racer(currently in bits). Just need a tandem and a unicycle......and a penny farthing!!
Ah, also, i would suggest a hardtail, as you get the best of both worlds, speed and stiffness with the frame, but a bit of comfort with front suspension. If you can, get forks which you can lock off if needed.
