| He didn't get rapport so it failed and should been aborted way earlier. Better to try a better opportunity then getting stuck with a dud. |

That's exactly the point.
If it were me, and I saw she wasn't responsive and never initiated, I would just let her have the last word and then continue reading my e-mails. |

do people ever really respond positively to a stranger making conversation like that? i am shocked she even gave her facebook details. _________________ on a break, so if you need assistance please contact another moderator from this list:

Have to agree. I never go up and just talk to strangers unless I feel there's something incredibly important to say...either that or to try to be least awkward as possible when stuck in places like elevators. _________________ About suffering they were never wrong,

I've had quite a few instances where I've done conversation like in the OP and it's gone pretty well. While I agree with the surprise factor on her giving him the details (since she didn't seem to respond that positively), I don't think the positive response is that uncommon, from my experience anyway. |

Most girls will give their internet details, it's the less confident or more subtle way of asking for a number. In any case, the level of interest depends on how attractive or interesting she finds the guy. Getting a phone number or internet details doesn't mean anything to be honest, arranging a date through email or text messaging briefly or quickly is the best thing to do.
Good on this guy for trying, he made an approach and regardless of the outcome, he will learn from approaching that girl and do even better the next time. |

| Keep in mind, the average NT girl has thousands of friends on Facebook and she probably spends a lot of time sending text messages and has a relatively large group of male friends or female friends. If you do add her on Face book, you are likely to just become another guy or another name on a screen, best thing you can do is quickly go for an ultimatum yes or no answer on a date through email or phone. |

The fact she gave away her FB to him means that she liked him somehow or at least she didn't find him threatening.

Unless if she gets impressed later of what he has in his FB profile: pics with friends, travel pics, cars, interests....
Did I tell you before about that girl who never replied to my face-to-face salutations and suddenly she started initiating talks with me after seeing pics of me with other girls?
Yea, maybe she'll delete him after two weeks, maybe not. Maybe they'll get married one day, you never know. |

It depends on the settings I guess.
I have seen it happen at:
-You are both in a line waiting for something
-Parks. Not sure why is this but Ive seen it happen with one person staring then the other one replies then one of them says something as they are leaving to give the other one a chance to start a convo (I guess)
As for the fb thing: I met a someone for the first time this sunday, we spent less than an hour talking, in this short time we exchanged fb just so we could keep in touch(new in town, still getting used to Spanish...).
A while ago asking someone for their fb details seemed like a bold move(even when it was a friend or something) but some people have helped me overcome this and most people(regardless of their gender) seem to give out their fb details quite easily.
This is quite scary considering the whole gps thing that was recently put on fb but quite a few people around here do give their fb details easily.
That being said I guess it can vary depending on the age of the people you are asking since those that are a bit older are more concerned about private details... everyone should be but sadly this isnt the case. |

It's ridiculous and cheesey. The way to get dates is to have a wide circle of friends and acquaintances, not being some cheesey dickhead loser 'on the pull'. Who knows, you might even get randomly approached yourself while having fun in a club or bar, rather than trying to crack onto every girl in the place.

Nah, she did that to get rid of him and he's going to make even more of a bellend of himself trying to initiate online chat with her and judging from the OP, it's likely to be WAHT IS UR FAVOURITE COLOUR UR SMILE IS AMAZXING
