Also a big SpongeBob lover here, though I haven't been keeping up from the fourth season onward. I sometimes catch a stray new episode, and whenever I do, I don't think they're all that baqd at all. There was one where SongeBob and Patrick stay in a toy store after closing hours, and another where SpongeBob tries to divide his responsibilities between assisting Sandy at a demonstration of an invention of hers, attending Patrick's birthday, and helping Mr. Krabs... do... something... I don't remember now. Too lazy to Google, too.
Anyway, this thread also reminds me of the WP poster SpongeBobRocksMao. Whatever happened to him? _________________ clarity of thought before rashness of action
spongebob is a genius. I love it when he says : "I am ready, I am ready, I am ready" and so on. Great cartoon, very cerebral though most people can't see that.

I love the little guy. If I have had a bad day I can watch a ep and feel better. I have loved the series for years. I don't really watch it these days, but every time I do, it's great.

My little girl is a Sponge Bob fan, so I end up watching it, whether I want to or not. But from what I've seen made me laugh. And I agree, there's definitely more to the cartoon than most people give it credit for.

I'm not really a huge fan and I don't really watch it that much but I do occassionly watch Spongebob from time to time. I especially love some of the older episodes before the movie. My favourite character is probably Squidward. I love how angry and depressed he gets when it comes to Spongebob. I love the Squidward's Day Off episode and I love how insane he gets when he keeps coming and going to the Krusty Krab to check up on Spongebob and he keeps saying "Have you finished those errands?". I also love the Mermaid Man and Barnicle Boy episodes, though I've probably only seen the first two and the one where Barnicle Boy goes bad. I love how Mermaid Man yells " Evil. EEVIIIIIIILLLL".

The humour used to be lighthearted and silly, but it's so dark now. What happened?
i know exactly what you mean... i once seen a episode where squidwards toenail was ripped off F***ING distucsting ...huge meldown!

there is a newer episode where squidward is re decorating his house, i think because going to be filmed due to competing with squiliam for a fancy house and spongebob decides to help, they move the sofa spongebob on one end squidward on other , spongebob starts pushing it towards squidward and he screams spongebob keeps pushing and it shows you pushing off squidwards "toenail" and you see it go flying off with a bit of skin attached. _________________ moderate low functining autistic (i was diagnosed with autism, not aspeger syndrome).
