The other issue with online versions of this test is that they depend on internet connection. When you are dealing with sub 500 ms reaction times connection latency will have a significant impact on the time. There is no simple way to account for latency with a widely geographically scattered test population.

Internet connection will not be a factor here. The timer is being run on the client in Javascript. Smile

I just took this again, and my results, while still terrible, weren't as awful as they were last night:

RTSD: 78.49
MRT: 457.2

The one thing I will say is that even though I tried as best I could to focus on watching the square, I couldn't help but notice other things around me (e.g. the reflection on my laptop's screen, etc...).

i got 291 RMT
29 RTSD

i thought i'd do better than that. will try it again when i'm more alive feeling
I kept trying to anticipate it, i couldn't help it.

i thought my reaction time had decreased a lot since getting into sports as i almost always catch stuff i drop or knock off tables etc but that may be not so much about reaction time after it looks like my reaction time is pretty normal

I took it twice, because the first time my score seemed higher than what other people were generally getting so I thought I might be doing it wrong(and also because I hadn't considered the square to be "yellow" so I waited for a very long time for a yellow box to appear, disappear, and reappear before realizing that the square that was already there was the one that the instructions were referring to). My second score didn't seem significantly faster than the first.

First time:
MRT: 433.4
RTSD: 118.61

Second time:
MRT: 421.2
RTSD: 112.61

Confused I always have seemed fast compared to other people. I must be REALLY stupid then.

Can someone explain what this terms mean? I googled it it and got nothing. I am also not sure if we are supposed to vote using our RSRTD or MRT.

The first time I got RTSD: 826.64 MRT: 755.6 The second time I got RTSD: 124.48 MRT: 380.4

I had to redo it several times to get the two sets of results, it kept saying that I had clicked too soon even though the yellow square was there. I'm not sure what to make of the huge variation that I got either.
