I'm very used to other students telling me to shut up during class [say, if I'm asking a question, or if I'm snarking]. I'm used to them calling me retarded, or autistic [I always smirk at that one]. I once sat out of a broadcasting class, which is especially bad as it is filled with regulars [non-accel students], and overheard them making fun of me.

I'm pretty good at dealing with bullies now; snark snark snark, hit them if all else fails [but only in private as direct retaliation; they usually won't tell anyone what happened].

A girl from my broadcasting class walked up to me after school and asked why I didn't enter any videos in a film contest because she thought my stuff was really good and I had no idea how to respond. People my own age are rarely polite to me, and they almost never compliment me on anything.

I have no idea how to respond to people being nice to me. Does anyone else have this problem?

Nod politely and ignore it
