I've either been telling the truth or just not including the bad things in my CV, I'm just wondering what other WP members do. Is it OK to lie on it? What can you lie about? How are you supposed to say you're not very social on it? That seems to be all places look for ; leadership with social skills.

Don't lie - you will get caught out, and anything you write on your CV can be questioned by an interviewer.
Don't put that you're not very social - why would you? There's no where on your CV where that sort of information could be put, and even if that wasn't the case your CV is about selling yourself so any potential negatives should be excluded. You don't have to say you're the life of the party, rather than addressing social skills put on your positives and miss out any potential negatives.
I will say I'm a 'team player' - but then my idea of 'team player' is different to what employers may want, for me it's about furthering the productivity and quality of work within the team...apparently I'm less a 'team player' and more a 'team leader'. It's not lying but spin.

It's perfectly ok to not include negative qualities on your resume or application letters. That's what the whole point of the CV is, to sell yourself and your positive qualities, and make you look like a good candidate for whatever job. You could always turn lack of social outgoingness/social skills into a positive by calling it "able to work independently".
I don't like it when employers put "excellent communication skills" as one of the application criteria. Oh well, that cancels me out  |

To exclude negative qualities yes-that's ok, to lie - NO! It's not worth it.
Mind you, although I used to be very fluent in French, I've lost a bit of fluency since moving to an all English area, but I still get by.
My resume says I'm fluent in French, which may be a little stretch of the truth, but in cases like that I can accept.
Bottom line, don't lie, not worth it, the right job will come along, |

I'm not sure if the amount of people out there who lie on their resumes are large, but I do know that it isn't a very good idea. Best to stay honest about yourself.

It absolutely is OK to lie on it, if you don't get caught. Do what you have to do to get the job. But if you do get caught, you will probably get fired.

Never include anything negative about yourself. Just leave it out. I would try to be technically truthful, even if misleading. It could be the difference between getting fired, or not.

Thats true. But if you don't lie about it, you might not get the job to begin with.

Its about one in five who lie. Recently Yahoo CEO Scott Thompson, to name just one.
