About these movies. I know that there are 3 so far. Are they based on true stories, or is it fiction? I did see part of 2, and it was kinda scary.

Fiction, but the very first was especially scary, as it was the most authentic looking.

I just saw parts of 2 and don't want to see more. I did see part of Exorcist online and no way I can ever watch the entire movie. I saw the Scream series and was a little scary.

I know when the first one came out, there was a lot of "was it/wasn't it real" talk as well as comparisions to the original "Blair Witch Project." Thankfully, unlike BWP, the producers and actors came clean early on and said it was all fake. It could've hurt the business that it was drawing in (which is why the BWP producers kept up the "it's real" bluff for so long), but it didn't.

With the sequels, I think most people know what they're going to get going into the film like with regular horror films.

Some awesome visual effects especially in 3,but I wouldn't really call them scary tho. As I found the story/night/story/night set up made it way to predictable.
