I feel like when I'm 17 or 18, I'll have the maturity of someone my current age, and I'll look back and go "Damn, what a dumbass I was".
But I need that maturity NOW. I know Asperger's doesn't go away, but there are ways to "grow up faster" and be precocious.
What should I do? How should I act more mature?
I know that I'm supposed to be an adult. That's all I can really think of. But how to be more reserved and adult-like?
More...confident? _________________ "I watched a change in you, It's like you never had wings, now you feel so alive" |

you are 15, there is no need to be 'mature' just yet; enjoy what little of your childhood you got left.
once you finish high school and go to college (or work), you will get resposabilities, and that will jumpstart your maturity, both mentally and emotionally (altough you can expect to be a little behind you age all your life) |

Yes, but I am not a child. Most adult Aspies have the emotional maturity of teenagers.
I AM an adult.
Most people my age have LIVES. They aspire to do adult things, which i SHOULD be doing. _________________ "I watched a change in you, It's like you never had wings, now you feel so alive" |

You don't aspire to do adult things?
What are these adult things? Pay bills? _________________ Trolls exist! They steal your socks, but only the left ones. I wonder what is up with that? |

I think you're worrying way too much about this. Don't try to force yourself to be something you simply aren't. And there really isn't anything wrong with "immaturity" depending on the kind we're talking about. Liking cartoons and disliking adult things(whatever you meant by that) is totally fine, and you shouldn't feel bad. Maybe people would tease you for liking cartoons(picked as a random example) or something, but never let others make you feel bad about yourself.
Having a hard time understanding other people's emotions, or getting easily emotional are both acceptable kinds of "immaturity". If you have that problem, don't beat yourself up over it. You can't really help it(although you can improve on it).
Now, being blatantly insensitive and making fart noises all the time... I'd say that's a bad kind of immaturity. |
