That depends on how much the idea of President Romney scares you.

Or 4 more years of Obama.

Is there still time to suggest I.P. Freely as a write-in candidate?

I would suggest Ivan Nikoliavitch Bitacockoff, but he was not born in the U.S.

Mathematically speaking, every single vote a person has ever made for a US president in history has been a wasted vote, whether it was a write-in or not. No individual voter has ever made a difference in a presidential election simply by voting. Presidents are not decided by the people, they are decided by complex systems and machinery and group dynamics. Each individual acting on their own has no say. A free thinker has no power. Mob rule is what democracy is. I mean, you can debate the semantics of what I am saying, but it is obviously true. A person with no friends has no power. A person with no power has now power. You get my gist.

ruveyn -- I'm quite surprised at your response. Are you implying that a write vote should not be counted or even be acknowledged. The gist of your respones is that only names on the ballot should receive votes. Are you really that much of a conformist ?

How did you come to that conclusion. Of course write ins should be counted as long as they are for alive people qualified to hold the office. Votes for C'thuluh are not counted even though C'thuluh is clearly better than either candidate.

I'll say it again: If you know that it is a fact that the people in power have given themselves the legal right to ignore the votes of the populace and put whoever they want in office...then how does your vote count for anything?

Democrats and Republican parties both legally have the right to put anyone they decide as the nominee. In presidential elections the electoral college once again is not legally bound to have the delegates cast their vote for the candidate the state they represent voted the most for.

Voting in the US is just another form of opinion poll. Aggrandized, hyped and sold as snake oil to an apathetic population.

.

If they do ignore the write in votes they are in breach of the Law. But when did people in power ever take the Law seriously? That is why we need a revolution every now and again so we can hang the people in Power from every lamp post, bridge and overpass in the land. When the people in Power get to be too odious, then hang them or chop their heads off like they did in France.
