Okay, does she play a more significant role like being captured by the Zentarans or Zaur... Something so that Ryuhei would save her or is there a female in the story that Ryuhei has a love interest?

There is a love interest in the form of Lana, but its fairly chaste, and they keep it professional. Maybe in the sequel...
Junko is a scientist, possibly with some medical training. She could be a supervisor for Stardust.
