Hey Guys and Girls, The last twenty minutes has seemed like about an hour and a half. I'm not dreding anything so it's quite nice. Other times a day seems like an hour. Anyone else have a very weird or no sense of time. I think it's more than a time flys when your having fun thing.

When i'm not doing anything, i don't realize how fast time flies.. but when i'm around people (and i usually feel anxious around them) time is passing really hard. Anyway i have a theory that time doesn't exists at all - and now i'm waiting someone to tell me again to jump off a bridge (people don't likeeeeeeeee me) LOL

I have a hard time telling how much time has passed. I either think a lot of time has passed when very little has passed, or that a short amount of time has passed when a large amount of time has passed. I think this is because I cannot "see" time as a picture, it is a very difficult concept for me to visualize. _________________ __ /(. . )

For myself time passes far more quickly when I have a project to finish. The more interesting, important it is, the quicker the passage. If I'm Really into it I lose track of time. This is time others get frustrated with me when they are expecting me. I've basically shut off time to finish what I was working on. Another time situation I have is an odd one. When I'm asleep or awake I somehow have a very accurate internal timekeeper. I can wake and before looking at the clock, take a guess at the time. I am always within 4-7 minutes of the correct time. I have always set alarms in my life, but every time wake just minutes before it goes off. People close to me have been amazed at my accuracy. My kids would ask me in the middle of a roadtrip and I would always have the right time. If only I could have figured out how to use this talent to make money. People already think of me a bit cuckoo because of my other oddities, so being a human clock wouldn't cut it.

My evenings are when I pursue my special interests, so my day usually ends with, "Gah!! How'd it get to be 1AM??"

Does anything think that maybe there could be a correlation between people on the autism spectrum who have trouble grasping a sense of time and also socially/emotionally mature slower than people not on the spectrum? For example. I am very immature socially and emotionally in a lot of ways. I also don't feel or look my age. I am 29, but socialize with people 10 years younger than me and get taken for a 20 year old all the time. I also can't really feel the passage of time too well and have the worst time management skills because of it if I am not keeping an eye on the clock.

I have NO idea of time. If there isn't a clock infront of me there is extremely minimal concept of time. I will often wait for hours for something if I don't know how long I've waited. Also, unless reminded, I'll not eat or drink either. I need to keep a notice next to the clock that says times I must eat and drink... or I won't. Better go drink now, now that I've thought of it!

I have a good sense of time really. But I think for everyone the time goes faster when you're having fun and the time goes slower when you're bored. I get stressed out with people who don't have a very good sense of time, like my friend. I like her and everything, but when we haven't got much time left she still seems to think that it will be enough time. Like when I've only got an hour 'til my bus and we've planned on getting a little bit of shopping, taking it to her house and having some lunch, I know that we can do it in that amount of time if we hurry (the bus station is just around the corner from her house), but just before we go into Tesco to do her shopping, she asks what the time is and I tell her and she says, ''let's go and have a look in the charity shop first, we've got plenty of time''. So we do, and before we know it, 15 minutes have gone already, so then we're rushing around Tescos getting the shopping, rushing back to her house with heavy bags, and then I'm scoffing down my lunch due to lack of time, and then rushing to the bus station before I miss the bus. And if we hadn't of gone into the charity shop, we would of had an extra fifteen minutes and could have done less rushing. Fifteen minutes is fifteen minutes, it is better than no extra time. If I had been on my own or with somebody with a better sense of time, we wouldn't have been rushing at all. I have a friend (NT on most days) who, if asked the time, can usually tell me within accuracy of 5mins (without a clock, of course )

I'm almost always late to everything and really have trouble sensing the passage of time. I have to have alarms go off every 10 min when I am getting ready to go somewhere or I may end up hours late. I have had several instances where I was in the shower for over two hours for no good reason other than I didn't realize that much time had passed. I frequently end up leaving work hours after I should because I simply lose track of time (other ppl leave before I do regularly because they come in earlier). I thought this was just me, but after some googling, I found this may actually be common for others on the spectrum. I am constantly being corrected about time periods of events during regular conversations with others. I frequently comment on happenings saying 'that occurred last week' or 'a few days ago', when it actually happened a month or months ago. It took a while for my sister to get older than 12 (in my mind). I kept telling ppl she was 12 maybe up until she reached 16. I've noticed now that I sort of have mentally have my mom's age stuck in the late-30s period. I've had friends give ultimatums about my showing up on time and or early to outings but as much as I try, it only happens on isolated instances. I am very lucky my boss is understanding or I'd be in serious trouble since I am late every single day. I make up for it by staying later, but not many ppl would let that go.

My sense of time is pretty rubbish. I don't wear a watch but make good use of clocks on the computer, desk phone, mobile etc to help me keep track and I set alarms and reminders on my phone for almost everything to make sure I don't overrun or show up at something late. _________________ Female. Have no sense of time which means is a pain when you have to do something at a specific time. Time just moves very fast, sometimes i feel like ive been doing something for like 15 minutes, but the actual time that has went by is more like 2 hours. So yeah im late to about everything there is, i would be late to my own funeral if that was possible.
