I dabble, but I never got incredibly hardcore into any one band.
Which isn't to say I don't love the stuff.
Iron Maiden, Nile, Symphony X, Tool, Rhapsody of Fire, etc.
I also have some guilty pleasures with Disturbed, In Flames, BFMV, and a few others

Whoa there buddy. Trivium is metalcore and they kick ass. Most metalcore does suck, but there are a few good bands.

I haven't even heard Trivium. I know of them, but never heard them, so you may be right. Like I said, though, just my opinion. And I'll be honest: I like Whitechapel (at least a bit).

Don't worry, you're not going to offend me by simply offering up an opinion. I haven't really listened to Whitechapel, but I saw them at Mayhem last year and wasn't impressed. You should check Trivium out, though. Even if you don't really like it you'll probably at least respect the guitar work. Try this one on for size:

O.o I actually enjoyed it.

Btw, I wouldn't say WC are one of my favorites, I just liked the one song I heard from them.

Yeah I love it! Metal is awesome!
I had my first dabble into it with Iron Maiden and Metallica a few years ago but it wasn't until this year that I've really gotten into it. I'm still exploring all the different kinds of it as well (which is also partly why I like it so much, it's so varied).
A few of the bands I like are Sepultura, Epica, Pantera, Trivium (yes I know it's Metalcore Razz ) FFDP, Entombed, Soil.....etc etc

I'm currently working my way through this years Download Festival lineup.

Love metal. I listen to pretty much all of it, but my favorite is Melodic Metal ATM.

I enjoy most metal/rock from the bludgeoning onslaught of The Berzerker to the whimsical melodies of Primus.
I can't however stand the testicle to razor "Roars" and whiny "Mummy bought me a brand new car, but nobody loves me" pish found exclusively in screamo/ emo music.

And don't get me started with the "lets make as many sub-genres as we can by putting -core on the end" BS either.

My heart however lies with experimental/avant-garde rock bands like Dog Fashion Disco, Polkadot Cadaver, Circus Of Dead Squirrels, Unexpect etc.

I agree, and on that note, just because a band is playing below 100bpm does not mean they are a doom metal band.

So I am most certainly a metalhead........I mean I was at The Wall concert last night and I didn't know what to do other than throw the horns and headbang cause uhh that's what metalheads do at concerts unless the vocalist of the band or whatever is indicating that the audience do something specific. Luckily my cousin sitting next to me had the same issue and the dude in front of us as well.

Led Zepplin (some consider them metal), Rammstein (they consider themselves dance-metal)? I'm not a die-hard fan of any genera, and I usually obsess on a per-band rather than a per-subgenera basis.

Led Zepp are most definitely metal! One of the bands that started it all.

I like metal, the heavier the better. I don't like all the whining about genres. If it sounds good I'll listen to it again, if not then I won't.

Recently I found a band that's heavier than the cast of the View with a side dish of Oprah and I can't stop listening to them. I don't care that some people say it's deathcore, if this is deathcore then this is proof that deathcore can be awesome. Also fun that the song title describes the song most aptly. DJ

That aint deathcore at all Laughing

Depending on who you ask, that's either brutal death metal or slam death.
