Strawberry fromage frais that came with an alien toy, also including chocolates with strawberry fromage frais centre - we didn't do yoghurt in our house, only ever fromage frais...now it's really hard to find fromage frais in supermarkets. |
They're the ones I was on about! I loved them. _________________

Ah yeah, prawn cocktail! I used to have those as a starter for Christmas Dinner. I also had Melon Boat aswell, my mum would cut a slice of melon, and put a cocktail stick into it as the mast, with a cherry as the crows nest, and a folded slice of orange as the flag.
There might have been more to it but I forgot. _________________

I don't like melon personally but the boat sounds great People used to think I was a strange child as I would only eat prawn cocktail as a main course when we went out to eat. And though surely it doesn't take much preparing compared to other meals it was always the last thing to arrive at the table. I must have had too much of it because I don't really like it now! |

I remember those frufoo yoghurts now, I couldn't quite picture them at first.
Does anyone remember those corner yoghurts with the crunchy colourful things in them? Loads of kids in primary school had them, it was also another one of those "stare in envy" foods that I never actually ate.
Also the following pre-health food laws school dinner items:
Potato smiley faces!
Those really big hortbread triangles, sometimes with custard.
Plain beef burgers that were not made of much lean beef .
Mash potato with the hard skin on top, yummmm
I was on school dinners for most of infant's school (up to about half way through year 1). and no matter what anyone says 90's school dinners were the shiz! This thread makes me want a plate of processed kids foods, heinz spaghetti, smiley faces and chicken dippers please! _________________ The butterfly, the tiger, just another shadow in the stone

Since making this thread I have been thinking about the "spaghetti and egg" nana's house staple, so while shopping today I bought some heinz spaghetti hoops and normal heinz spaghetti and I'll make some of this nostalgic tea some time next week. _________________ The butterfly, the tiger, just another shadow in the stone

| The mystery meat they used to give you in school cafeterias. My god, what was that stuff? Foods that you only got a carnivals like fried dough and cotton candy that likely couldn't pass any health codes. Jiggly worms candies. McRib sandwiches from McDonalds, which were really their own form of mystery meat. Those hushpuppies, aka greaseballs, from Long John Silvers. Maybe, I just miss fast food. |

I'm sure you can still buy that stuff in the cheap supermarkets. It probably has something like "Made in Armenia" stamped on it as well. |
