I meant election race. I find it kinda funny how you don't get what I mean, as I had a hard time grasping that OP actually meant ethnicity. ^^ |

As you can probably tell I like the moon more too. It's more otherworldly. The sun is just that thing that hangs over your head during the boring daytime, so mundane. Whenever I see the sun I think, "Oh, its you again.  " |

Speaking as a Lutheran, I can tell you that American Lutheranism - which is mostly white, and of north and central European heritage - today has more in common with Lutherans in Africa than we do with our ethnic cousins in Germany and the Scandinavian countries who have mostly lackluster commitment.
So much for religion having roots in race.

The idea that arrangement of genes can determine the content of thought and belief is absurd. We come to believe what we believe and what we commit to by our experiences. Inherited temperment plays a very minor role. The notion that each "race" had a mind set proper to it is total balderdash.

What I'm meaning is that in the Celtic countries, there is such a variety of Christian churches that it's not possible to lump them together as Celtic Christianity. For instance, in Scotland, among others, we have the Church of Scotland and the Free Church of Scotland (the wee frees). That wouldn't make sense, as Catholicism is the same throughout the world. I've been in Catholic churches in many countries and the congregations definitely follow the same doctrine. So, as they are Celtic, would the Catholics in Ireland be happier if they converted to one of these Celtic churches?

I get the feeling from ephestia's comments that he was referring to Insular Christianity in the Early Middle Ages, as that was a mix of Catholicism and Celtic polytheism.
