A race for political position.

Do you mean "a RACE for office"- an "election"?

Like the "race" between Romney and Obama?

Or do mean the subdivision of people who hold a particular political "position"( ie "opinion") should be called a "polical race" ( like a political "tribe")?

I meant election race. I find it kinda funny how you don't get what I mean, as I had a hard time grasping that OP actually meant ethnicity. ^^

I was about to say that last night.

You're like me!

As you can probably tell I like the moon more too. It's more otherworldly. The sun is just that thing that hangs over your head during the boring daytime, so mundane. Whenever I see the sun I think, "Oh, its you again. hmph "

Any kind of religion will never be universal.

thats my opinion.

Define race.

For humans, race - species. There is one human species, there is one human race.

Indonesia is the most populated Muslim country in the world, but they are not Arab. Kind of proves your theory wrong.

For me I consider my self obsessed with space travel and going to the Moon but does that mean that I worship the Moon and consider it a god?

Speaking as a Lutheran, I can tell you that American Lutheranism - which is mostly white, and of north and central European heritage - today has more in common with Lutherans in Africa than we do with our ethnic cousins in Germany and the Scandinavian countries who have mostly lackluster commitment.
So much for religion having roots in race.

Actually the KKK might be a whiter religion from the standpoint of religion having a following and beliefs.

I don't think it has declared itself as a religion, has it?

The idea that arrangement of genes can determine the content of thought and belief is absurd. We come to believe what we believe and what we commit to by our experiences. Inherited temperment plays a very minor role. The notion that each "race" had a mind set proper to it is total balderdash.

Also, we have the Catholic church and many different protestant churches here in the Celtic lands, so there's no concept of Celtic Christianity.

There actually kind of is, but it's within existing churches, rather than a church in its own right.
What I'm meaning is that in the Celtic countries, there is such a variety of Christian churches that it's not possible to lump them together as Celtic Christianity. For instance, in Scotland, among others, we have the Church of Scotland and the Free Church of Scotland (the wee frees). The difference between these churches is quite startling and it's hard to believe they even originated in the same country. And does Catholicism go into the group of Celtic Christian churches? That wouldn't make sense, as Catholicism is the same throughout the world. I've been in Catholic churches in many countries and the congregations definitely follow the same doctrine. If Catholicism is not one of these Celtic Christian churches that the OP speaks about, we're excluding the majority of Christians in Ireland. So, as they are Celtic, would the Catholics in Ireland be happier if they converted to one of these Celtic churches?

I'm actually just having a bit of fun with this thread, because the OP's suggestion sounds unusual, to say the least.

I get the feeling from ephestia's comments that he was referring to Insular Christianity in the Early Middle Ages, as that was a mix of Catholicism and Celtic polytheism.
