Hey, I have kind of a basic question for you all lol. Anyways, when you go running or exercise, what do you do with all of your stuff, like your keys/wallet? At the gym I used to go to they used to have designated places you could store everything, but at my new one they don't so I've just been putting everything on the floor next to me which I really don't like to do. If I keep everything in my pockets then it jostles around so much when I run and such that it's really annoying lol. And if I go running outside, I never bring anything with me since I don't know where to carry it lol.

Why not just leave it all at home and run where you live? Can't you run on your street or around your block, etc? If you have to lock your door, then put a housekey on a chain around your neck.

That's exactly the reason, to lock my door. Also if I drive anywhere or go to the gym I have to have my car keys/ID with me also. I might try that chain idea, it sounds like it might work!

When I go running, I just take house keys and wear a RoadID (similar to a medicalert bracelet, I have the soft ankle-strap one, just has my personal info and emergency contacts). Much better than dragging all that other junk around.

If I go to the gym I leave my stuff like that in a draw string bag that is usually in view

I am female so when I run, I put my housekey on my shoes (I tie it into the laces.) and slip an ID and usually a credit card or a couple of $20s into my sports bra.

I have found this to be comfortable for any length of run up to 21 miles. I have not tried this for runs longer than 21 miles yet.

Well, I don't lock my door so housekeys wouldn't be something I'd worry about. I'm also too lazy and out of shape to run, but I do walk places sometimes.

Wear your workout clothes to and from the gym, and take a shower when you get home if you did cardio. Don't bring a bag with you into the gym and leave your wallet in the car. I only bring in car keys and a comb in my pocket.

The amout of things that might get attention of criminals or that you are prone to lose can be reduced and then they can be kept safe better. In outdoor sporting occasions I only carry car key or home keys leaving everything else into car (hidden, not in the view through windows) or home. Although I usually carry huge amout of keys (my home, shed, bicycle lock, parents home, office) I do have another set of only home keys for such occasions. I don't have any fancy key rings, and my car key is attached to others with a carabin and I can leave the rest of the set into car. When I used to jog starting right from my door I just kept keys in my palm and had a string around wrist for safety. Now I should sew a string into pocket of my sporting pants to attach car or sports club locker key to it.

A common wallet is stupid huge, if you probably will not go shopping then you only need one or few cards (ID, driver licence, credit card) and one or two money bills. Keep the cards together in something that itself does not take up room. Compared to this a mobile phone is much more difficult to place safely while jogging.

Also take into account the criminality level of the place you are in. Some sports clubs locker can be safe enouch to leave your wallet and phone, others certainly are not.

I have also found it comforting when running outside alone to simply hold my keys in my hand with a key poking out between each of my fingers. It isn't exactly brass knuckles, but I seriously doubt anyone is going to be able to catch me after I punch them in the face using a bunch of metal!

(Note: I have never been attacked while running outside so I don't know that my keys-between-the-fingers trick is even effective...it makes me feel better though.)
