most I like is mechanic aspect, workings, technics.. can spend lotsa time disassembling an reassembling over and over again

Thanks! It's a Norinco JW-15 .22LR bolt gun; it's my quiet water bottle annihilator. It's the same as the usual CZ 452, just 1/3 the price (Norinco copied the design, just like they copy the designs of pretty much everything out there); I owned a CZ 452 in the past, and the Norc is pretty much equal in all aspects other than the finish on the stock. I also owned a Norc 1911 copy, and it was as good as the Colt I had. nemorosa, You'd actually be surprised about the rates of ownership of firearms in countries that don't speak of it as much. In my state in Oz, 1 in 20 people own firearms, and we're like Canada and England in regards to many things. Sure, it's not the 1 in 2 or so of the US, but it's high enough when you look around and see twenty people and one is a shooter.

It's not a fear, because I never encounter guns at all in the course of my life. Sure, we have crime, but guns aren't going to solve the problem only make it much much worse.

There was nothing to address. It is interesting what people will say to defend the indefensible. Why would any sane society actually want guns? Surely the eventual goal should be to be rid of them entirely? The only way we will ever remove weapons is to remove humanity. Humans are predators. Predators use what they can to get what they can [within the guidelines of survivability].

I'm sure you'd pick up a weapon and kill an animal if you had to. To protect your life if you had to. If not, you'd die, or you'd get someone else to do it for you, which is the same thing.

I don't think anyone is getting an erection over the sight of hardware. They'd be more likely to get an erection over your avatar than a gun.

I have one of those too! It was my first real gun, my grandpa gave it to me when I was 13. I love that little gun. Shoots great!

If someone is ill-willed, and intends to hurt someone else, they will do so with our without guns, and with or without automobiles. And thousands of people will be hurt and killed every year by accident; whether by careless operation of automobiles and guns, in the bath tub, or by slipping and falling off a cliff.
