(Up front, I admit this post may not work here but it seemed too undefined in any other category on the forums, so I'm placing it here.) It's like, whenever I watch or read or anything, I don't perceive it like others, like say I watch "Silent Running"(excellent film by the way), then it's like I go into it, or am nonjudgmental, or something, I don't even know how to say what's going on, it's like a swirl of thoughts like "outside of reality and fiction, which don't even come into play", "realism and silliness", "inherent ridiculousness" by others, meaning and metaphysics of media, I can't explain it. All I know is it's been bugging me for the past few months, and i have no solution, and nobody I talk to can help. Is it a distortion of something in my brain? Is it taking stuff seriously where others don't? Is it me unable to adapt and survive amongst people?

Do you have the same problem describing an event that occurred in real life, like something you saw at work or a conversation you had earlier in the day you're relating to another person?

No, not really, as far as I can tell. Tough relating it to other persons, yes.

I suppose you might be distracted by things like mood, lighting, soundtrack, etc... in movies that keep it from being a 'real' experience, so trying to keep track of what's going on is like keeping your eye on the right card as it moves around in a 3 card monty game. It might just be a matter of keeping your attention on the character's actions and forming a sequence of events; what did he do, what is he doing now, and what will he do next?

Well, that's the thing, i don't have problems with movies being kept from a "real" experience, it's the thing about that they automatically become real, and then having to deal with people who, I don't even know how the post turned into this. I'm so confused.
