Ever since I heard that the only way to stop an abduction by actual aliens is to call out to Jesus....and actualy mean it, it was the smoking gun for me that the so called "aliens" are actualy something demonic. Anyway, I was listining to a video "teaching" by some Christian preacher by the name of Scott Johnson about this topic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXtlLuB8sos&feature=BFa&list=FLNU7l8_tf7lInZb08EmM5Bw He goes on to talk about Katie Perry's and Kanye West's song "E.T." and the video for it. He claims it is Illumati propoganda to accept this "alien deception". He basicaly made the video sound like some kind of porno or snuff film. Curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to see extactaly what he was talking about. The actual video itself is rather silly and nothing special in contrast to other music videos, and compared to some I've seen, it's actualy very tame. It's nothing like Scott Johnson described it and after watching it and listning to the lyrics, I wonder if it's really meant to be a metaphore. The "alien" isn't actually an alien. but Kayne West's character, trying to express that he feels like an outsider. The lyrics "Big-headed alien" sound like a new take on "egghead" and "space cadet". "Diffrent DNA" could be a reference to something like skin color or perhaps something like autism. "Big headed alien" actually sounds like something someone would call someone with Asperger's. The references to another dimension sound like a reference to someone who thinks "outside the box". Scott Johnson really needs to learn to relax once in a while, learn the idea of a metaphore and stop thinking that anyone who dosen't think the way he does is possessed or a devil worshiper. I feel so embarassed for taking him seriously like I did until I watched the video. But then, probably because of the autism, I also have had trouble knowing weither or not someone is being serious, talking out of their rear, lying or trying to be funny. It's not as bad as it was when I was a little kid, who if you told me it was a pink elephant, I would have believed you. Maybe tomorrow I'll post all of the "evil" lyrics and interprete them one by one like I did for "Head Like a Hole".

Finnally- a rapper does a sensitive meaningful song, and does something more than prattle on about sexual conquests, violence, and macho bragging- and some preachers condemns it?

I think music can be interpreted however one wants to interpret it. I still feel so embarased for believing that preacher. Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed I think the "alien" is kinda cute. Anyway, I think it's all metaphore for feeling like an alien. Katy Perry's character loves him for who he is and is willing to throw away SOCIETY'S idea of "normal" and willing to be ostracized herself for loving him. "Big headed astronaunt" sounds like an insult someone would call someone with Asperger's.

Good on you for doing your research. I love to see people using their minds to uncover incontrovertible evidence -- the smoking gun -- about how things work. So many people are quick to start with nothing and jump to wild-ass conclusions that make no sense at all.

I always had an assumption that if these "alien" things were real and not just someone telling a story, that they were evil. I used to have nightmares about UFO's all the time and would lay awake all night long so they couldn't "get" me. Eventually I started to pray for protection and not long after, I wanted to do some research on the whole alien thing from a Christian perspective. That's when I came across account after account about people getting abducted by "aliens" and out of fear they would call out to Jesus for help and the abduction abruptly stopped. That was the smoking gun for me.

In most "alien" abduction scenarios, the aliens attempt to school the person on things like the state of the environment and a bunch of new age mumbo jumbo. The only religion they seem to have a dislike of is Christianity, they never have anything bad to say about the others. They also try to convince the person that the devil is just misunderstood and the Bible has it all wrong. Why would creatures so technologically advanced to know how to build spacecraft that can travel at light speed come all this way to denounce Christianity and promote new age ideas? Something just doesn't seem right. If this is getting too off topic and more about religion than music, maybe a mod can move it to the politics, philosophy and religion discussion. Anyway as for the song, I don't think it deserves all the hype the fundamentalist Christians are giving it. I've heard even worse songs that the fundamentalist Christians never went after, or at least that I'm aware of. As I said, music can be interpreted however one wants to interpret it. As for the video for the song, that's just art. The way that preacher described it, you'd think it were some kind of snuff porno flick. Even if Katy Perry and Kanye West really are involved with the Illuminati and really did intend for this song to "indoctrinate" people into accepting the alien deception or whatever the fundamentalist Christians are saying, Kanye West and Katy Perry didn't do a good job trying to convey that message with this song. Maybe Kanye West and Katy Perry can actually think for themselves and expect their listeners to interpret it however they want.

Never actually heard the song.
Just based my opinion on what the OP said...and on some wishful thinking on my part I guess.
Lol!
