I used to do this and now I know to force myself to mingle and it does not come naturally, but I feel uncomfortable clinging to someone too much.

Yes, I cling. I forget who people are and get overwhelmed with more than a couple of people so I don't tend to mingle or anything.

I tend to cling in parties and such. I also tend to stay near the sides of the action.

The dynamic at family get-togethers is always interesting--my immediate family tends to stick to itself most of the time. I think as a group we're not terribly outgoing.

I used to cling when I was younger; even into my early 30s.
When I think back now I must have annoyed the pants off many hobby friends.
I used to call at their houses and spend hours there doing nothing.

I don't tend to get clingy really, people and friends come and go, its just part of life. But I do become attached to those I make a personal connection with.

apparently i do cling which i didnt realise i did for a very very long time. I still cling if i am in a very unfamiliar situation. I am thankful that my 2 besties from uni allow me to cling to them n follow them around when need be but i dont smother them..

I do tend to find that in relationships i also cling but this is more due to attachment theory. I do get smothering in a relationship if im not given rules, direction and stabilising foundations to go on.

Though i can manage quite well with anyone n i dont cling/

I apparently cling to people too, especially in a new situation like school, its not like i want to claim that person, i just got very excited about making a new friend, but as far as it goes for me, i'm pretty independent these days :) And i generally avoid liking someone or starting something with the goal of a relationship, its just not something i can deal with at the moment :x Because i don't like to cling. And i'm afraid i will if i don't watch out ><

Yes, I'm doing that with my closest friend atm, especially when we head to the city or go to the mall or something. I still feel uncomfortable traveling to such places by myself, and that aside, I always tend to get worried I'll lose them. Funnily enough, it's usually this type of behavior that tends to annoy people and makes them distance themselves from me Sad Luckily, the friends I have now don't mind when I do it.
