I am sorry that I have made more threads on here about my own issues than I have responded to other people's threads lately. That is not the way I want it to be.

I don't know where to turn at all. I am panicking. I am really suicidal. I don't know what to do. I feel it gets worse no matter what I do. I want someone to take this pain away from me, it's not mine, I shouldn't have it. I have no appetite anymore and have only been able to eat something tiny at the end of the day for the past number of days and I look like death and want someone to take this pain away from me, it isn't mine. This is not who I used to be.

Hang in there, Cloudlayer. If you have prescribed medications please don't forget to take them. Call a family member, friend or therapist if you have one. Exercise. They say that's a gret stress buster. Run or ride a bike. Go for a walk. Watch a movie. Keep in contact with your family here at WP. A lot of us - including me - have the same issues as you and I want to believe there's just gotta be a light at the end of the tunnel. Take care.

Honestly, it sounds like a hospital would be your best option. It sounds like there is a strong biological component that's most likely treatable with meds. I went in for similar reasons once and it worked out great. The hospital won't solve all your problems, but it will get you in a better place to address the environmental ones and they will provide you with a plan to continue getting help for after you are discharged, which may include outpatient which I highly recommend if given the opportunity (it's not much like inpatient).

I was just in the hospital and I'm afraid it was not a good experience. I am glad to hear that a stay at the hospital worked for you.

I do take medicine and it does work but it is not moving this.

Thank you for your response, I appreciate it.

Is there another hospital near you with a psych unit that you could go to? I say this because sometimes it takes trying different meds to find the right ones. I don't know if you are on new meds or have been on them a long time, but sometimes new meds can cause this reaction, and sometimes old meds stop working and have to be changed or adjusted.

This is what I would suggest that you do. If you have a psychiatrist, call him and tell him how you are feeling. Let him know you are suicidal. If your therapist works in a group that has MD's then they will be able to get you admitted to their practice. Tell them you had a bad experience and ask for a different hospital. In the city i used to live in, there were 11 hosptials in the metro area, so I'm imagining that there may me another one you can use too. If there isn't another hospital, then tell your therapist exactly what was wrong when you went before and ask that it be addressed so it doesn't happen again.

If you have no other choice, go to the emergency room of the same hospital. Tell them you are suicidal and that you need to beb admitted. Take what meds you are taking with you so they can verify this. Be sure you tell the doctor in the ER about the problems you had before, and also ask to speak to the patient representative before you are moved to psych. If there is no patient representative, ask for the house supervisor and tell them about the problems. It might be a good idea to write down what the problems were, with a briefone or to sentence description of what the exact problem was.

Meds can help so much when you are on the right ones. Trust me on this. I've been where you are, both from not being on anything and from being on the wrong thing. Finding the right antidepressant can take a few tries sometimes. It's important to not give up on the idea because of a bad reaction to one.

Getting the help you need is also important, even if you had a bad experience before. Knowing in advance what bothered you before can help you a lot about preventing that from happening again. Hospitals like to make money too, and they can't make money without patients. Remember, you are a customer there just like if you were at a restaurant or a store. While you can't simply "order what you want" medicine-wise, like you could with food at a restaurant, you are still entitled to respectful treatment and good service. Too many people go into the hospital and feel that they are at the mercy of the staff and have no voice. Unless you are committed involuntarily, that is not true. Speak up, complain about bad service and give praise for good service. Both are equally as important. Without feedback, they don't know what to change or what to encourage.

Thank you for the advice. The hospital was unfortunately very unresponsive to my needs and this has been the rule at the other hospitals I've been to as well. This hospital was chosen because of the better care it apparently offered that it did not end up doing. My medicine seems to be working as best it can but it just cannot do everything.

I really appreciate your thought-out reply.
