Jewish settlers filmed shooting Palestinian protester

Quote:
An Israeli human rights group has released a video suggesting Israeli soldiers stood by while Jewish settlers opened fire on Palestinians in the West Bank.

Quote:
“The incident is currently being investigated by the division commander. That said, it appears that the video in question does not reflect the incident in its entirety,” it read.

Anyone want to guess what it was that the video didn't record that required the use of firearms?

It looks like the incident was well under way by the time the video started...kind of like the Rodney King beating. I expected to see Palestinians throwing rocks, their national pastime, but setting a wildfire to burn down a settlement is a new one for me! If they only shot one person, that's some impressive restraint. The Israelis could have played whack-a-mole (more appropriately, whack-a-turban) with guns.

I won't be surprised to hear that all those peoples houses got bulldozed.

Ignoring Court, Israeli Officials Bulldoze Palestinian Homes

Again, I am unable to tell if you're being sarcastic, or if there was literally a Palestinian guy with a bomb strapped to his body. :?

The two flags you have on your avatar don't match. As a right-wing gun-nut American, don't you have fantasies about what you would do if someone intruded on your land? Well, here's an example right in front of you. Not only have the Israelis intruded on the Palestinians' land, they are building settlements on it and shooting the rightful inhabitants! And you have nothing to say except to defend the Israelis? Shameful.

The one they plugged in the head probably had a grenade........
Either way, the world has to express it's obligatory outrage at the Israelis as always.....

I am the first to say that the Israelis have the right to defend themselves and their families. But if a man is going to get shot, either he had had a grenade, or he didn't. If he did, then he was shot in self defense. If he didn't then the shooter stepped over the line and needlessly took a human life. This excuse that the dead man "probably had a grenade" just doesn't hold water.

Yes, well the Israeli that did the shooting had multiple threats to watch at one time. Anything that appeared even momentarily to be more than a rock (grenade, pistol, etc...) he had but a second to decide what to do, if anything. We don't see what all else is going on outside of the camera's periphery that the Israelis did see and had to keep an eye on while all of this was going down.
They had only seconds at best to make a decision while we can sit in the comfort of our homes half a world away sipping our martinis and watching it over and over as many times as we want and judge them....

Well clearly the Isrealies should now kill all the Palestinian's and anyone else they don't like this is the last straw its finally time gods chosen people took their holy land back or whatever the hell it is they are still fighting for 100's of years later.

If they would all just become metalheads it would all be good, imagine the mosh pits that might occur.

Maybe it was one of the males who was detainned in an Israeli prison and was unlucky enough to know why they were detained?

Isolation and Solitary Confinement of Palestinian
Prisoners and Detainees in Israeli Facilities

40% of the male population being in prison is an exceedingly high number, doubt all those prisoners had charges.

Or maybe he sympathized for someone speaking out about his plight

Pro-Palestinian activists detained in Israel

Or maybe he's the one that had his or someone he knew electricity turned off or house bulldozed.

No matter whether this shot was self defense or not, every dead person prevents a solution of this conflict.
If you kill somebody it is morally wrong even if it is self defense.

The complete disappearance of the Palestinians would solve the problem. So would the complete disappearance of the Jews which is what the Palestinians want. I would advise them not to hold their breath until it happens.

In other words a solution would be very unrealistic or very unhuman.

I hate the near east conflict but it is also very interesting.
This is an example in history what happens when every country doing something wrong.
Is there at least one example of good decisions and solutions in this conflict?
We need there solutions as fast as possible.

Another thing you can think about is whether they understood the problems they would have caused by clearing and settling the land in 1948. I really think they did, but didn't care. The west wanted more of a stake in that portion of the world after all, and they got their foot in the door by organizing the 51st state of the US.

If the area gets annihilated, that would solve the problem, but then New Israel will probably be situated in the US.
