Earlier this year I got an app on my phone which allows me to make very precise to-do and grocery lists called Out Of Milk. My life hasn't been the same since I got it - it's incredibly helpful when dealing with executive processing issues where I can't figure out what to do first or when I'm stressed out about an upcoming event. I make a list of all the different things I need to do, in order and broken down into easy steps, and cross each one off when I'm done with it. Having the lists on my phone (which makes them simple to edit) has given me a ton of confidence when I'm dealing with a big task.
What apps for your phone or iPad have helped you with aspie-type stuff? |

-My CIBC banking app has helped me have quick access to my bank account information as well as do banking online from my iPhone, maybe not the safest idea but it's sooo convenient, it causes me less stress of looking it up on the computer and I can look at it anytime I want
-PHub Tips is a tip calculator, it basically tells you how much you should tip depending on where you are and how much it costs and what percentage you want to tip, this relates with my dyscalculia
-some of the games like Tap Tap Revenge are good if you have fine motor problems, you give your fingers a work-out playing some of those games
-FMC is a fertility calendar for women, you enter the number of days in your cycle and when you get your period, it then predicts when you'll get your next period and it tells you which days you are most fertile-I find this app really handy if you have problems remembering when you're supposed to get your period, you can also keep track of the days you've had sexual intercourse and stuff, trust me it sounds silly but this is a lifesaver if you have a forgetful mind
-Goodreads is an app based on the actual website Good Reads, I find this handy because you can bring this along when you go to the library or a bookstore and keep track of what you've read and what you would like to read next, very handy for book lovers!
-LCBO On The Go (for people who live in Ontario) it's very handy if you forget what time the nearest liquor store closes or if you don't know where the nearest one is
-YellowPages is an app where you can look up phone numbers, very handy for anyone
-I use the notes feature on my iPhone to jot down phone numbers, grocery lists, To-Do lists and little reminders to myself
(All of the above apps are free for iPhone and iPod) |

Can you still get out of milk on app stores, or is it exclusive to android/other app stores, because I can't find it on the apple app store it sounds like something I've always wanted, but never thought of needing. _________________ Female, 16

Many of these apps sound useful. I do not have an iphone, but I am considering getting an ipod touch. Do you know if the same app store is available for the ipod touch? _________________ __ /(. . ) |

I'm not sure. I got it from the Android store, so it might not be available on iOS devices. I use the basic version, but the pro version allows cloud synching to multiple devices.

Aww.... That's a shame, it's usually the other way around, where android users can't get apple products, so I suppose I can't really complain too much, there's probably a similar/equivalent about if I look a bit. _________________ Female, 16

Try searching for Remember The Milk - I'm nearly sure that's the name rather than Out Of Milk. Another good one is Toodledo. Some of these list apps are designed to facilitate a particular way of organising yourself called Getting Things Done. I used it (Getting Things Done) for a while, with Toodledo and a thing called a Tickler File for a while, and I found it helped with executive functions. Then my 3 yr old deleted it from my phone, and I haven't got back to it yet! Must do it, now that you guys have reminded me. |

I've heard of Out of Milk! I would love to try it, if only I had a smartphone...
I'm interested to hear that it's helped someone here with that never-ending need for exec functioning. I almost always dislike that stuff. |
