I'm interested. My finals are coming up soon so I should have time. Only other thing I'll be doing is other programming projects.
I can only really write Java at the moment, so chances are I can't help too much if you use another language, but I'd like to observe nevertheless. :3 |

I know html, javascript, css, php, cgi and some flash, but I have a hard time completing projects, so I don't know what kinda role I would take in a thing like this. I do have lots of ideas for solutions and I know what is possible to program and what is not, mostly, so perhaps "ideas for solutions"-man could be my part. _________________ AQ: 42/50 || SQ: 32/80 || IQ(RPM): 138 || IRI-empathytest(PT/EC/FS/PD): 10(-7)/16(-3)/19(+3)/19(+10) || Alexithymia: 148/185 || Aspie-quiz: AS 133/200, NT 56/200 |

We could start with something easy such as a severe weather notification program. I wrote one of these a couple of years ago. It would monitor the National Weather Service's website for Hurricane, Severe Thunderstorm, and Tornado Warnings. When it detected a new warning within the three county area where I live, it would call my phone phone and relay the warning. This is necessary for me because weather alert radio signal does not adequately reach where I live. I wrote the program in C, but would be willing to use Java or C++ as well. Also, the program worked in conjunction with the Asterisk phone switch program. The reason a rewrite is necessary is due to the fact the National Weather service changed its alert format. _________________ I am AUTISTIC - Always Unique, Totally Interesting, Straight Talking, Intelligently Conversational.

I wouldn't be good for mobile programming, but I do know (and keep refreshed my knowledge on) C#. Get me a team and and a goal and I'll contribute. Sorry, I don't know any other languages (apart from a novice's knowledge of html), but I can easily expand my C based knowledge.
I would say my strengths are:
Graphics and stuff
Mathematics based programming
Interface design
Data retrieval
In short, I'm interested. _________________ Read, comment, learn, enjoy:

I've been somewhat interested in making a telnet/dial-in interface to this site for a little while (reminiscent of BBSs) - but I've been waay too busy to even figure out what all that would entail. _________________ Nothing posted here should be construed as the opinion or position of my company, or an official position of WrongPlanet in any way, unless specifically mentioned. |

I do not know how to code in Java.
I am proficient in C programming, GTK UI programming, Bash/AWK. I am a beginner in NASM Assembly, python, and JavaScript. So, a project in any of the following is fine by me.
BTW, I am a hardcore Linux user. I swear by it and will not 1000 of a running Windows OS lol
Java is a great language though! |

That's good to know! You would be very handy with a web based project or a person to help with logic and finding solutions! I do not have much experience in the web area though, except JavaScript. Which is awesome BTW. Reminds me of C. Any ideas for a web based project or a even a general project?? |

This sounds like an awesome idea, though I do not know how to program in Java. I would say most phones have android as an OS with has Java as a front end. Even if I am not a part of that, I think that should be done!! Its such a great idea! |

Ideas??? I really like the idea of making wrong planet mobile. I have no experience in this area though. I am like you though; I pick up languages very easy because of my C background. |

Not sure what you mean exactly. I absolutely love socket programming! It can get very complicated though! |

The programming language is actually Scala, which can run on top of a Java or .NET CLR virtual machine; in this case, we're going with a JVM. Android actually runs on top of a customized Linux kernel and uses the Dalvik virtual machine, which isn't quite the same as Java.
In this case, we're not talking about a mobile-device app that runs on iOS, Android, Windows Mobile, etc.; we're talking about a web app that runs on a server and generates HTML5 that the end user can view using Mobile Safari, the Android browser, etc. |

You seem to know what needs to be done. So where can we start? I gave a list of languages that I know pretty well. A list I have began to use 6 months ago and some that I play around with. So if you want to do this I say let's give it a try.
BTW, I think JavaScript has functions like webview to mobilize web content. |
