I was wondering if anyone had Facebook if they could be her friend. She has Asperger Syndrome and doesn't have anyone she can relate to her. Her social skills are really bad and she gets after us a lot. I feel really bad that she has little friends who really understand her condition. She won't come here because she doesn't like forums.

So if you have Facebook, do you think you could add her and relate to her? It would really help if you could. She needs people to relate to her and I don;t know how even with autism. I have a mild to moderate form of classic autism so our conditions are too different. She really needs other people with AS who can relate to her. I hope you will add her and be friends with her. I already told her what I was doing.

She has little to no social skills... she needs friends to relate to her.

The reason I like WP and not FB is because I can be myself here. I can talk about deeply personal issues and not be judged for it. Also, since I relate better to aspies, I don't want the NT world in this private life. I'm scared of FB. Tell her no one will judge her here and she'll meet lots of people to share her problems with.

I've tried but she just doesn't want to come here and interact with anyone. She's really stubborn and she won't listen to anyone. We have to fight with her just to understand things she does wrong. We feel really bad because she tries so hard and a lot of our friends live in japan... so they don't understand Asperger Syndrome that much.

What about the Wrong Planet Facebook group? I don't know what it's like, but someone else might be able to tell you. I really have to know a person quite well on line before I add them on FB because my FB is quite personal, I'm sorry.

Wait, there is one? I didn't even know. I'll have to link her to it when she adds me again. We got into a fight again so...

Sorry, I don't do Facebook or the other major social sites. I agree with the other posters, that Wrong Planet is a better place for us on the spectrum to hang out, and I like it here. However, I do think that SilkySifaka's suggestion that you link your friend to Wrong Planet Facebook group, is a good idea. Perhaps I should take a peek at it, too, if only to satisfy my curiosity. Very Happy

if she can't make friends here she won't be able to make it on Facebook also
and then many NT's would be seeing the messages and updates there
its much safer here
