‘Flame’ Virus explained: How it works and who’s behind it

Quote:
Flame may be the most powerful computer virus in history, and a nation-state is most likely to blame for unleashing it on the World Wide Web.Kaspersky's chief malware expert Vitaly Kamlyuk shared with RT the ins and outs of Stuxnet on steroids.

Iran appears to be the primary target of the data-snatching virus that has swept through the Middle East, though other countries have also been affected. The sheer complexity of the virus and its targets has led Moscow-based Kaspersky Lab to believe a state is behind the attack.

Hmm, and nations want to look into every nook and cranny in Iran's nuclear program, but Iran doesn't want them to have access to everything.

WONDER WHY?!

Who is behind the "flame virus". The Iranians claim it is the Jews. But it is really the Americans.

I was meaning to update this thread.

Israel hints it may be behind 'Flame' super-virus targeting Iran

Quote:
A top Israeli minister yesterday fed speculation that the Jewish state could be responsible for a powerful new virus said to have been used in a fresh attack on computers in Iran and elsewhere in the Middle East.

Researchers Find Clues in Malware

Quote:
Because Stuxnet and Duqu were written on the same platform and share many of the same fingerprints in their source code, researchers believe both were developed by the same group of programmers. Those developers have never been identified, but researchers have cited intriguing bits of digital evidence that point to a joint American-Israeli effort to undermine Iran’s efforts to build a nuclear bomb.

Barak acknowledges Israel's cyber offensive for first time

Quote:
Speaking during a conference at Tel Aviv University, Barak stressed that in cyber warfare, as opposed to conventional warfare, it is more important to invest in defense than offense, and admitted for the first time that Israel has been developing and working on both tactics.

"Our goal with cyber defense, which is the more important and difficult component, is to prevent damage," Barak said. "It is more than we can benefit from an offensive action, even though both aspects exist."

What makes you think it wasn't created by the Jews?

Hmmm, and Aquavelvajob and the mullahs constantly proclaim that they want Israel and the United States wiped off of the face of the planet and both powers are concerned about Iran's nuclear program.

WONDER WHY?!

None at all. It has the hallmark of Israeli software mavens. But it was deployed at the command of President Obama. He thinks these toys are just nifty. UAVs, virus. There is only one problem. Any game that can be played by one can also be played by more than one. I wonder what will happen when our lights start going out because the Abu Mustafa virus has been planted in our power network control computers.

I hope our military folks have their launching complexes totally isolated from the internet. I have a feeling that the sh*t will hit the fan in due course.

I don't think this information should have been released to the general public. Seriously if this was designed to wreck the Iranian Nuke Program, and if it was working, I consider it to be preferable to using conventional bombs dropped from aircraft and resulting loss of life from those weapons.

That drone we gave Iran had a lot of value, which will be shared with Russia and China. It is not just what it does, spy, but where and how it was made. It gives out a list of suppliers, any of which become targeted points of entry.

Flame to work has to be in a computer, and once in, pull the plug, and start reverse engineering. It is much easier to copy something if you have one.

To be seen as doing something about Iran, we gave away a lot of work, showed what defenses need to be increased, and reduced our ability to use it in case of war, when it would come in handy.

The attack on Iran has given the Chinese our best work, to counter, teach to lie, and build on the platform. A known spy is fed false information.

Even if our power grid is not connected to the internet, thousands of people have access to the Intranet that runs it.

The Chinese plan is for economic warfare to reduce our ability, which is working just fine, before a millitary showdown. We are being baited like a cat with a piece of string. We will show all our moves, and get tired.

Congress seems to be a branch of The People's Liberation Army.

We owe 1.3 billion Chinese $1,000 each. Most American Industry has been moved to China, Three Million good jobs lost. All of our technology has been transferred. Now we are giving away millitary secrets.

Concerning the drone, I'm not sure that's not a bait and switch yet. Sometimes a country will purposely plant something so irresistable that the enemy will snatch it up, rely on the info it finds, and then create a mess for itself. The best is example of that is "The Man That Never Was" trick set up by Ewen Montagu of the British OSS during World War II. A cadaver in the uniform of a British major named "Martin" was deposited in a sea area where the currents washed it toward France with false documents indicating a military move to be made by the allies. The Germans intercepted it, believed the false documents - and poof! They had a real mess on their hands when the reverse occured. I can't help but wonder if this is such a move.

my experience was the military industrial complex is an order of magnitude more incompetent than i could imagine at the time.
i suppose it goes along with war being a racket. everyone knows it, but they can't understand it until they actually feel the impact.
and then no one believes you anyway until your own weapons are used on you.

like stux, flame and all.
in order for these weapons to work you have to conceal weaknesses in your enemies' infrastructure.
except, in this case, everyone uses the same infrastructure.

As the IT wars continue, there will be more apparent value in concealing weaknesses than there will be in fixing them in the first place.
This transition may not be that far away.

I think they are prodding the opposition to make a move, so the west can justify carrying out further action against countries in the Middle East. They might not do anything.

A Russian inter continental missle test over Isreal was declared a success.

All of the targeting checked out. Those things carry twenty warheads, and each is ten times what hit Nagasaki.

No way of stopping it, and about enough time to say, "Huh What?' before it is over. Even better, it was forward based in Iran, flew over the Fleet in the Gulf, who could see it but could do nothing, then over Syria, to pin wheel out over Isreal.

Did somebody threaten to bomb somebody? Some claimed Atomic Power?

Advanced anti tank rockets showing up in the hands of activists in Syria has raised the stakes. Guns you can buy on the black market, and I can get you a 10% discount. Advanced anti tank weapons have to come from a government,

It is not the people of Syria, it is one or more Nations that are sending troops and major weapons in. It is an Act of War, there are rules, they have become a target.

The UN, Europes version of FEMA, has been supported by Syria, but the Activists refuse to deal with them. The Activists refuse talks, elections, or putting forth a political platform, they just kill lots of people.

The most likely reason is because they are not Syrians. They are the same hired guns that were in Libya, Iraq, the foreign fighters who had to leave Afganistan. Funded by the Saudis, armed by Americans, and allies.

They are getting chewed up, and blowing themselves up, and they have no replacments. They hold no ground, they hide in the towns, then everyone leaves, and the government comes. A few thousand can cause trouble, but they cannot beat the army, or take over a country of 25 million.

It would be like the Zetas trying to take California.

In war all plans are worthless when the first shot is fired.

The government is just keeping the pressure on and grinding them down. Those captured are being questioned, and giving up their bases and supply lines. Some places in Turkey are going to blow up.

This will run down and spread.

I seen that, and there's a video of it. It looked like the "Norway Spiral". I wonder if was really over Israel, or just in the vicinity? It was sighted by other countries in the region. But the reason I'm wondering if it was really over Israel is because Israel has a missile defense system. Why didn't it engage? Is Israel not prepared for what could come their way?

I believe your answer is in Ezekiel 38 and 39. This event, known as the Magog Invasion has not occurred yet, but begins the rise of the antichrist. Magog is ancient Hebrew for Moscovy. Rus is self-evident.
