Gosh!
I knew that an individual could have a Freudian slip- like Bush when he said "we went into Iraq to restore chaos".
But I didnt know that an entire beauracracy could have a Freudian slip-- like the Romney Campain aparatus!
So... the Republicans will be even BETTER at internal surviellance than Obama is!
Romney will give us a better AmerCIA!
I believe it! |

You all don't get it. Clearly it's intentional. It's a clever play on the word America. Let's dissect the word "Amercia", shall we?
First, let's assume in this case that the first letter A is actually the prefix a-, meaning "no" or "absence of" (as in atheism, asexuality, amorality, etc.). The main root is the word "mercy". And the -ia suffix clearly refers to the condition or quality of something (as in euphoria, hysteria, etc.). Taking all of that into consideration, and with appreciation for its usage here as an anagram of "America", the word "Amercia" is obviously a neologism Romney himself coined, referring to the "condition or quality of having no mercy" which he's going to bring to the Obama campaign.
And yes, for any of you who can't tell, the above was me being sarcastic. _________________ Mediocrity is a petty vice; aspiring to it is a grievous sin. |

I believe that there was a kingdom of "Mercia" in Dark Age Britain in the region that contains what is now Liverpool ( and the river Mersy). |

Basically, I was poking fun about the way some of the more, shall we say, "unhinged" supporters of certain politicians try to rationalize and spin stupid gaffes and mistakes like this as if they're not really stupid gaffes and mistakes. _________________ Mediocrity is a petty vice; aspiring to it is a grievous sin. |

| They probably noticed the mistake post-production, shrugged, and figured most of their supporters wouldn't know the difference, anyway. |

Wow.
That was quite a trick!
Okay- using a little a poetic license you could call DC and Puerto Rico "states"... maybe Guam as well. Thats still only 53 "states". Then there is the Mariannas, and Saipan, Okinawa, but the residents of those places dont vote in our elections- I dont think. So there is little point in him visiting them.
I guess Obama must have gotten the states confused with Heinz 57. or with Baskin Robbins 57 flavors of Ice Cream. |
