In you position I would've tried to place as much stuff as possible on one machine. Sure work and music can't share the same box?

Yep, they've specified real clear that I'm allowed to do nothing on it other than what's work related - even websurfing. Pretty much anything that would open the main server to viruses or anything like that (which I refresh my mail from). Definitely a no-go unless I'm seeking unemployment.

More link dump tomorrow, but until then have this:

http://localhosted.net/~nitro2k01/mp3/Empathy%20(3).MP3
Two sides of the same coin really.

Just got back in town today, I'll take a listen to it as soon as I can.

Ok, more links, here's some of my non-Gameboy music:

All of the above is electronic music, most of it is very experimental.

Very nice. With intercontinental it sounds like you twisted and chopped a whole bunch of d&b beats with it, the rhodes track was real good too.

What software/hardware does everyone use?

Software
-----------

I use FL Studio as my main host
Cool Edit Pro for cleaning up audio tracks which I then import into FL.

Hardware
-----------

Fender acoustic
Fender Strat
PodXT
Boss DR660 drum machine
QWERTY keyboard Laughing

I have just dicovered Buzz which is free. Seems buggy, unfinished but has a cult following. Starting to really like 'tracking', you see notes as numbers and letters - aspies will love it lol. But the best thing is that it is modular so you can connect up 'machines' like it was an electronic circuit. Apparently it is great for experiemental stuff like triggering beats.

Damn nitro2k01! I really want to get LSDJ now, but it seems the carts are now no longer produced. I would even invest in a gameboy just to use it. I suppose I can buy a flash kit. Do you know if I can run it on a DS with a GB emulator?

Cool, fellow Flooper!

Is there any particular reason why you are still on v5? FL7 has just been released and it has some excellent additions. Patterns can be viewed as clips like audio/automation. New kick ass audio editor.

Ok, I just added 2 more and strangely they actually got accepted on a Sunday - I didn't think they did that but you learn something every day I guess.

Here's the rundown:

Wendigo - I think this was like the 3rd drum & bass track I'd seen to completion, did this back in 2005. I almost wanted to give it a name with a government sniper of spy vs. spy John Grisham type ring but I couldn't come up with anything and I thought it was almost edging on being a little too eerie to go in that direction so I just went for that edge of things.

Dust - Just finished this one, my first use of a movie sample as well in a track (if you've seen the movie Pulse you may appreciate it). Played with bass line layering a bit more, same with drum layering, and since I started this track by playing with my Yamaha RS7000 I did end up sampling some sounds off of that (the wind and synth chirp mainly). Like the other one, definite dark and eerie - just wish I could have kept the harmonics of the percussion out there a little more because they started getting buried fast.

And to reiterate the link: http://www.mp3.com/5pryme
