New York Times, Science section, article on background noise. I thought this article was very interesting, and had to laugh that it "bothers" so-called "normal" people too.... they're just too unaware that they are even bothered, apparently. It takes pointing it out to them, for them to realize _________________ *since I get asked fairly often, the avatar is a Claude Monet, it's lovely, isn't it? .... 127% Aloof, 99% Rigid, 86% Pragmatic, I am above the cutoff on all three scales. Intersting. Oddly enough, I sleep with a box fan on and need some sort of background noise - I have lived with ringing in my ears all of my life, and it helps me ignore it.

I think the constant noise made by the device would bother me just as much as hearing people talk and being distracted by that. I like some background noise but a constant noise would probably just give me a headache. _________________ It's like alice in wonderland except, my names not alice and this is the real world not a dream. |
