I just got back home and logged on, supposedly the servers are more stable now than the last beta. I'm kind of bored with the game to be honest, but I'm going to try playing more of it this weekend than I did during the previous beta.
Anyone else participating? |

Yeah...that's how I feel. I honestly regret pre-purchasing the collector's edition. Its not a horrible game, from what little I've played..I just feel ehhh...and I think I've outgrown mmo's and many types of games in general. |

I was thinking today how thankful I was that there was no monthly fee so I can just hop on when I'm very bored. I still feel bad about putting down the cash for the CE, I guess I was expecting more from the game or maybe I've just outgrown the mmo genre. Doesn't help a lot that when I was most excited for the game I was still taking to my ex-friend and we were going to play together but now I just don't care much.
I like doing the dynamic events since you don't have to search for quest hubs and the down scaling if you're playing with lower people is very nice too. With that said, I still insist that the animations leave a bit to be desired and the voice acting and dialog is more cheesy and forced than even World of Warcraft. The game runs a bit better than the first BWE but the optimization still sucks. Its not a terrible game but its like everyone else playing the beta has taken some special pill, again, I think it might just be me partially. Even with GW2's casual friendly, supposed none-time sink design I'm having a hard time getting excited or thinking of why I would want to spend a lot of time in this game.

I thought a lot of concepts in it are next generation, simplicity, i love the graphics too.
I am disappointed with combat, its very flatline with 1 or 2 skills to use in a particular situation. Seems all skills are pretty much the same. there is no strategy or variety with classes either. Every class feels the same, pvp is boring button mashing.
Its still beta, so i hope they improve on these things. |

I felt the combat is inferior to Diablo or WoW even. I've seen people compare it to Demon Souls mechanic wise but I'm totally not feeling it. The exploration is nice but again, its not as good as other single player games. Its not horrible at all, it just feels so generic and like you said, the combat is pretty flat yet this game has had a development longer than Vanilla WoW. They are listening and adding stuff in, but I don't see them magically changing everything about combat unless they want to push the game back another year or two. |
