Since I haven't found a post concerning this, I'm guessing people here weren't aware of this because the media has been trying to ignore/bury this.
Basically Conservative Bloggers for the past few years have been targetted by individuals whom report phony emergency situations that get SWAT teams dispatched to the homes of said bloggers.
Not sure about anyone else, but I find this to be extremely troubling since this sounds like something you would see from a dictatorship.
Some Republican Congressmen have sent letters to Eric Holder at the DoJ demanding investigations into this (which I doubt Holder will do).

Yes, considering the broad presence of anonymous tipping to the police, it could happen to anyone in the U.S., these days.... better stay quiet - but not too quiet, as that may make you seem odd. Better be friendly to everyone, even those you can't stand or hate, so they won't report you, and do be careful if you get romantically interested in someone who someone else shares such an interest in. Better not dress too odd - that may be perceived as if you are making rebellious statements, and rebels are dangerous people, after all. Better be like everyone else - don't stand out, don't be special, don't have a weird name - that may all give you trouble.
It's a sad time in the U.S., nowadays. To think it used to be meant as "the land of the free", at a time. What is left of that, today? No one is safe, anymore. Today, every type of crime, regardless how mild, even can leave you with cavity searches (link). Land of the free, indeed. |

Actually, the tactic called SWATTing is being used in an attempt to silence Conservatives, by intimidation or someone getting shot. This really is a scary time, however if you let people intimidate you, then they win. I don't expect the current Attorney General to do any serious investigation.
Chicago has moved to Washington and it will probably take years to clean up the corruption (yeah there was corruption before, but this Chicago style corruption is at a whole different level). |

I've heard of "death by swatting". Don't know how prolific it is in real life but I saw an example in a police series on TV where a man was anonymously warned that his wife was in danger from a crazy stalker who might just break into his home. The person who gave the warning then anonymously told police that he'd heard an argument followed by gunshots coming from that house. A SWAT team arrived and burst in. The guy thought the door was being smashed in by the crazy stalker and emerged from his kitchen to protect his wife holding a gun and the SWAT team shot him dead on the spot.
So the guy pulling the strings effectively set up the whole scene and got this other guy killed by SWAT. One way to murder someone... get SWAT to do it for you!

Some conservative bloggers have been pre-emptively contacting local law enforcement after a string of these incidents, because this is occurring more and more frequently. |

Liberals are cool with free speech only as long as it's something pleasing to their ears or supports their agenda.
If it's one of the many topics or words arbitrarily stamped as "hate speech" then, of course, it has to be quashed for the greater good of collectivism and whatever.......... |

This is something I've noticed. For all their banter about tolerance and respect for other points of view, they're very likely to actually try and have people with opposing views silenced. They look through a very-distorted lens, and determine the right course of action. Some examples, slightly exaggerated for comical value:
1. Capital punishment is wrong, because you're killing a human being.
2. Abortion is alright, because we've determined a line from which it's a human being.
1. Black nationalism makes sense; they're finding their cultural roots, and we should support them.
2. White nationalism is a vile, discriminatory ideology of oppression and should be banned.
1. Christian fundamentalists are evil, intolerant bigots who lack any form of education or compassion.
2. Islamic fundamentalists in Europe are just the poor, the victims of oppression even after millions in Saudi funding.
What I hadn't realised yet was that some of them found these methods acceptable to push those points.
Then again, Geert Wilders has received thousands of death threats and needs to live in a secret location with bodyguards for suggestion that maybe, just maybe, there might be a problem with multiculturalism and European integration. Another interesting standard: a liberal government said it wanted to repeal our blasphemy law. Then, a man put up a poster saying Islam was a 'tumour' and they quietly withdrew the idea. I don't know how bad the situation is there, but it's only acceptable if their core (feminist, environmentalist, multiculturalist, pro-European) or pet (foreign, convicted criminal or muslim) groups do it here.
I think I'm with you on this issue. |

It is amusing that the hardline Communists of the USSR were fundamentally the conservatives (not in that they were right wing, but staunchly traditionalist), with liberal policies Glasnost & Perestroika that brought an end to this backwards, corrupt, cronyist system that had arisen
Let us not forget the important conservative voices that have played a part in civil rights of your country 
It is unfortunate that to many people conservatism and liberalism are both only recognized by their extremes. Having to stick to "party line" is an enormous handicap to the political process. Entertainment media does not help, either...
